This was in the early 1990s. My sister attended in person (I was so jealous!) but I recorded the concert on VHS. It was broadcast by a local TV station. I have all their CDs and never tire of them. I fell in love with Christy O’Leary❤.
Why do they look like they're suffering ? Only devout Catholic boys could play the " Devil's Music " while sitting perfectly still . Funny !BTW I saw these chaps in Santa Cruz, 1980 !
If there has to be a ranking of 'Best Irish Fiddle Players', Kevin Burke is my choice as the very best, even above the great pioneer, Michael Coleman! His ability coupled with his musical sensitivity transends this world. First time I heard him play, it was love at first listen! Simply Brilliant.

Spent a wonderful night playing tunes with Michael and my buddy in Astoria Oregon about 45 years ago. Believe it or not we played a lot of Beatles and American folk tunes, drinking wine, playing tunes. Never saw him again but wish I had...he was a special soul.RIP Michael.
