I noticed both grog and yasha are missing from this, probably because they’re both barbarian tanks and the heaviest hitters but I also like to imagine that yasha kicks the shit outta pike and is like that’s my girlfriend you’re talking about
Ngl it took me AGES to process that Imogen/Vex were done by the same person as Jester. I could count the players and logically know who played who but they're SO different!
Technically… it’s not a cult since cults try to control people by not letting them interact with nonbelievers, not letting them leave the cult, not letting them ask questions, and other things like that. Traveler actually tries to get people to leave his “religion” and he’s fine with questions and his followers talking to whoever. More of a goofy club really.
For my money, Jester is the greatest PC in Critical Role history. And I love A LOT of their PCs. Give me my all-star team of Jester, Laudna, Fern, Vax, Scanlan, Grog, and Percy.
I love the contrast of the groups in every campaign; Vox Machina; - A Gunslinger with a dark past but trying to renew himself. - A holy woman who does batshit unholy stuff sometimes. - A barbarian with a heart of gold. - A sex crazed bard trying to better himself. - A ranger with sass and poshness. - A rogue who is the paladin of the raven queen who has seperation anxiety when sister ranger is gone. - A druid who doesn't know what she's doing at some points but still a badass. - A artificer who is full of himself but did become braver the minute he joined. = All are good and trying to do better. Mighty Nein; - A tiefling cleric who you thought is secretly evil but she's just a bundle of joy and cupcakes. - A half - Orc warlock who is a sailor and also a warlock who you thought was a secret bad guy but he's just a chill dude at points. - A tiefling blood Hunter who you thought is evil and will stab you in the back is just a tiefling who fights in the front and ferociously mock at the same time. - A goblin rogue who you thought is evil but is secretly a sweet heart and a mother and a halfling. - A human dirt wizard who is always depressed and was evil until he snapped out of the sleeper agent program and said f this. - A human monk with anger issues but will have your back. She'll kill you without a second thought unless you prove yourself. - A barbarian who looks evil but is a celestial being who at the time was controlled but is a softie. - A firbolg cleric who you thought would suck out your soul to make dead people tea but is an overall chill dude. = They're good. Will hang out. Unless Beau doesn't snap my neck but overall good guys with 50/50 good and bad past and trying to do better. Bell's Hells; - A human sorcerer with anxiety that almost rifts to the dark side from time to time. - A undead sorcerer/warlock who has campaign 1's BBEG as her patron and also rifting in some points to the dark side. - a human fighter way out of his prime. - a gnome Blood hunter/rogue who is a toy maker who is likely to die in his sleep who turns into a werewolf willingly unless its a specific moon. Also shady. - a genasi bard wi5h confidence issues. Who is also a secret royal. - a earth genasi barbarian who has chronic pain and sometimes can rift to the dark side. They are also selfish at one point. - a faun druid/rogue who is a kleptomaniac and sometimes go batshit crazy without her noticing. - a halfling fighter who has PTSI and noble to his people and friends. - a automaton cleric whose deity's alignment is still unrecognized. It is also a murderbot. Also a bundle of joy but sometimes scary. = likely to kill each other. A few BBEG potential.
saw someone discuss once why MN won the fight. P much that VM more of a glass cannon party while MN is built to just. never die. MN can turtle so effectively while still dealing good damage and VM just couldn't compete.
Well without Grog to soak damage, and without Keyleth to do some mad crowd control, VM was already down two of their hardest hitters. And then on top of that, they severely discounted how OP Stunning Strike is when used in PVP. But yes I agree, MN really tailored their abilities to avoid death after losing Molly so early in the campaign.
All party's member : Ooh, jester managed to send a somewhat normal message! Jester : Too doo too dooo mmhm DONUTS!!!! Party member : nope, spoke too soon....
By both the original and modern meaning, any deity that is the sole focus of a groups worship is a cult figure head, and the group is a cult. It's not the same as being a creepy, death cult, or a way for someone to have control and lots of sex.
