@@Salmonaddicts my dad has had one salmon but I have not touched anything. Salmon and sea trout have been running the Tyne last week so hopefully during the school holidays it will be my turn 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoy the chuncky kit cat 👍. Keep up the videos. Do you use an intergrated line ? Im using an Airflo running & shooting line with loop to loop connections but sometimes i wonder if the loop to loop connections can affect casting ?
All mines are loop to loop mate it's not a problem it's rio lines I use I'm not to sure about the airflow it's all airflow I use for trout just back from mentieth today
I'm the same mate I had a hold of a fish for 2 seconds and that's been it I've never seen it so bad at what point do you say as an angler it's time to leave them alone and stop trying to catch them I think we're going to have a few trout trips
Seem to be getting them downstream usual spots. Noticed Newtyle and Dalguise getting them as well. I've fished downstream as well. Only a 3lb seatrout.
@salmonaddicts thanks its been a long road to get a fish on the fly this year. Hopefully get a few more yet this season. Maybe see you on the Tay at some point. Not ideal conditions on the Tweed for you. If only we could control the weather.
Enjoyed the video. I caught on Tay couple of weeks ago while on my honeymoon! Lovely 9lber silver bar, at Bolfracks, never fished a big river like it before, beautiful
@@Salmonaddicts Mentieth , Big Chunky Kitcat :) Fished the River Esk at Longtown on Friday second trip with double handed rod great day no fish water level was perfect running clear. Have yous had any Salmon this year ? Keep up the good work.
Great vid guys, never fished the dee but that looked like some very fishy stretches. Even the birds were whistling which is always a good sign. Keep at it and tight lines !!
Fished that several times. Lovely beat . Fished it last year with my friend who fished it for 30 years on and off. I got a springer Last year . Lovely beat
You've given me a brilliant idea for a new fly tying- the Tunnock's; Chocolate brown overwing, silver-foil body with silver wire overlay and a creamy white under-wing/hackle. Humans can't resist them- so what could possibly go wrong ?
Ha ha great idea mate I,ll have one lol your biscuit of the week has been done up the dee lol were having trouble editing it though so hopefully up soon
Hi mate depends where your fishing on the tay we use 15ft rods with rio versi tip lines but when it's windy we use skagit lines to cut through the wind obviously on smaller rivers we use shorter rods
I would go to the Tummel starting in March till end of May then move onto the tay I had my first fish of the season last year on the Tummel end of march I think then started getting fish on the tay in april
Nicely made video. Ive not experienced salmon fishing but I bet it is a true joy to experience. Thanks for sharing this my friend. Liked and subbed. Please stay safe and connected.
No Tunnock's ?? Shameful...! Nice video though, thanks. I can never understand how salmon manage to strip line away and then just leave go....ah well !
@@Salmonaddicts I’ve been fishing every weekend and everyone you bump into or ask for advice are really stubborn. I love fly fishing and it’s my hobby and my goal and bucket list in life is to catch a salmon. I’m just wanting a good reliable beat that I can fish till I can get one!
The perth and district angling association are good if your 17 you can join the club but probs better if you can drive if your under 21 I think it's only £45
@salmonaddicts nothing quite beats seeing them with your own eyes does it. Hopefully I'll get a beast before the season is out. Tight lines for the next trip.
