I'm losing my mind trying to figure out how this got recommended to me. I'm both a guy and straight and I've never heard of a single one of these ladies 🤣 Welp. Good luck to you all I guess lol
I was a huge gallagher girls fan in middle school. I'm in my mid 20s now and I literally screamed and started jumping up and down when I heard Ally Carter was writing another spy novel. Really excited to read the book. :)
Great panel! I enjoyed your breakdown of Netflix’s sports series. I found myself watching one recently and was totally surprised by how compelling it was. I noticed a few years ago most of the telenovelas on my TV were Turkish in origin and had been dubbed in Spanish. Interesting! This romance reader and K-drama watcher also much appreciates your recommendations!
Great convo, I especially like the comments made about the dynamics of grumpy/sunshine in MF books and how much harder readers are on female characters. Something that I find HIGHLY frustrating as a reader myself. TFS 😄
Oh! And I'm totally a read-snacker. It's kind of a problem: If they drink wine (and they always drink wine) I want wine. Medieval setting? Get me bread and cheese. This is not helpful for zipping my jeans...
My PRETTY LITTLE LION is going to be my long-car-trip-over-Thanksgiving read. Good to hear there's a Molly Harper out there I haven't read yet. Adding to my TBR forthwith!
I was so intrigued by the fact that one of Jennifer Estep's characters could smell emotions, that I immediately added Kill the Queen to my TBR. I now need to know.
I had such a blast moderating! Here are two of the books referenced in our chat! Red & White by Sierra Simone: www.goodreads.com/book/show/51397039-red-white The Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean: www.goodreads.com/book/show/31307650-the-day-of-the-duchess
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of listening to LaQuette teach about having diverse characters in writing. She raised up Jules Bennett as doing a great job--loved her heroines. But that's no surprise. Jules is amazing!
I am so sad I had to miss this in real time. But it is a great way to start my day. I've just finished Ms. Lopez's second book, and am waiting for book 3! And Melonie's Hot Scots give me life.
Aww! Thank you Jen and Sarah for recommending ENGAGING THE ENEMY. Safety and health is most important, but I'm so worried about what's going to happen with the covers now that we can't do photo shoots. The painted covers sound good.
