Alan & Mags are "amshipnshore" (a & m ship 'n shore). We enjoy to share our videos, pics., and info of places & ships. It's all "just a look at life", so please enjoy it !
With this new terminal at Liverpool, I’d love to see direct services on this ferry to Dublin and I’ve written to them and the other Isle of Man ferry company about this - living in Manchester myself and having family in Ireland, with the Irish government planning to comply with EU climate change directives and ban short haul flights between the U.K. and Ireland, this would make life so much easier, as Irish Ferries has ferry routes between Dover and Calais and between Ireland and France
I think there is a store room/staff maintenance area next to it. As we were just entering, admin and work men arrived and told us to contact the pursers desk, they informed us we were being upgraded. They wouldn't comment on the reason why. There is nothing wrong with the original cabin in my view, hope this helps.
Brilliant im coming back home and haven't been on a ferry in about 30 years I'm coming for the TT, so if anyone has any footage of travelling 2 the Isle of man from Liverpool to Douglas cheers 🍻 dudes stay safe and well see ya soon Paul thanks 😊
@amshipnshore yes please I'm from Douglas but not been on the ferry for years and I'm camping it's a bucket list thing dude, once I get home I'll b OK I think but the travelling as a footpassanger is all new to me, so if you want let me know your details and I'll subscribe 😀 thanks dude, PAUL
Thanks for that Paul. As you can see my channel is called amshipnshore all one word, we visit the IOM often so I have footage of the steam railway and the electric railway. It's all there if you want to view it! Thanks in advance if you subscribe to my channel, Alan.
We have stayed at the Rock Hotel and have booked again for September this year. An excellent video; it really does this superb hotel justice. Many thanks for sharing!
Alan and Mags, you guys have a wonderful channel here with such a variety of content that we are excited to explore. We've hit your Subscribe button for more of amshipnshore 👍
Well this is fabulous. And so glad you captured the quite stillness of this part of the world (as we would) rather than overlay lots of talking and music. A real delight to watch.
We are big fans of letting the views and images tell the story, and using as much natural sound as possible, so videos like this are totally enjoyable to watch.
You just have to get up early to capture those sunrise moments, because never in our normal lives is the sky as big and horizon as wide as when you are at sea 🌅
I've not stayed at the Malmaison for over 10 years since I retired. Good to see it hasn't changed. As for the Borealis, I'll be on her for the first time in January for the first half of the 2024 world cruise. I just hope the ship is as good as she looks.( PS my employer's old Liverpool offices were right opposite the cruise dock. We could wave at those on board from our windows. And did! )
Actually my cousin and husband are on also on that voyage. We will be there to wave them off! (We will wave to you also 🙂👍). Borealis is lovely, staff brilliant enjoy it all! Fair winds & calm seas. Bon voyage!
Is it worth going to Bergen, or not necessarily? I ask, because there is a trip in July, but it doesnt stop at bergen (..a place, Ive always perceived, that I should visit)
thank you. Great vid. I was thinking of doing this in July next year. Are there any options for going up the hills by the fjords ..like, on a bus or train (or just walking), for the day?@@amshipnshore
Sailed on Cunard Countess 1981 southern Caribbean with my future wife. It was our first cruise and great fun. I recall departing Puerto Rico and getting into rough seas. Lots of dinnerware hit the floor along with a few passengers. Caracas, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Thomas all wonderful ports. In St. Lucia and Barbados we had passes to local Cunard operated hotels.Very nice. Our cabin was on the small side and quite spartan. I recall it was very noisy. Food and entertainment were good. In retrospect it was a rather small ship with limited facilities compared to cruise ships of today but still an amazing experience.
Ocean Countess was my 1st CMV in ‘10. Didn’t know it was Cunard Countess. I sailed from Liverpool to Cork and returned to Plymouth. I miss CMV such as Columbus in ‘19 to Antwerp. I have high hope in it’s reincarnation of Ambassador and look forward to Ambition to Antwerp again later this year after Ambience’s lifeboat issue last year. June
Thanks for showing us Boudicca. She was my 1st Olsen’s ship in ‘13 to Ireland. I only resumed cruising with Olsen in ‘21 on Bolette and this year Balmoral. I agree with Olsen’s smaller-ship concept. I missed their Black Prince and Braemar etc but Borealis will be our final next year. June
Dear friend! About 20 years ago, I've heard about this glorious railway! I really wish to go to Isle of Man, for working in the railway. I'm teacher, sociology filosofy, history and german. I live trains since I was a kid. What about contacting each other?
