Exploring Brazilian Jiu Jitsu primarily. We will also feature other forms of grappling, including Catch Wrestling, Judo, and Japanese Jujutsu. This is part of Fight Commentary Breakdowns. You will see Clinton Harris, Rob Watt, Paris Snyder, Jonny Kowalsky, Kit Dale, John Evans and others!

This channel will attempt to understand the very in-depth beauty to grappling. Each individual featured on this channel will have a specialty that he or she will share. Jonny Kowalsky is a wrestler in addition to a BJJ Black Belt. He also owns Grappz for finger support. Paris Snyder has five other black belts in addition to his BJJ black belt, so he has a lot of cross MMA training. On top of that, he loves leg locks. Clinton Harris is a US Navy veteran, so he has military training in addition to his BJJ black belt. Words aren't needed for BJJ all-star Kit Dale or John Evans. Rob Watt is the other main man behind Fight Commentary Breakdowns. He needs no introduction.

As a jiu jitsu practitioner, that Origin gi which shintaro is wearing, in general, jiu jitsu gis are very grippable, you can get a lot of really good grips with them, they arent as big or as loose as judo gi's, but honestly, it shouldnt make that much of a difference from the standing position. bjj gi's have less fabric because once you are on the ground, all that extra fabric really gets in the way

I wanna take up Judo not only to be able to defend myself, but to use as a solid foundation, compete and eventually transition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after 4 years. I'm 28 years old, I weigh 165 pounds. I'm tall and lean. Any tips for someone of my body type and goals when starting out? (I will continue to cross train Judo when I transition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as I am deeply interested in both and have been researching them for quite awhile now)

Epic throws, but some of these weren't followed by secured positions if I remember correctly from the full videos...interesting how it goes to show that when people say for "self defense" it's enough to throw somebody on the floor, but you could be defending yourself in this type of enviroment that is not concrete...so it's always better to train every "range" of combat

The ippon Stevens scored around 3 minutes was his signature ippon seoi nage. You sort of expect to see that go through since it was his bread and butter during competitive years. People knew it was coming but he would still make it happen, want it or not. You mention the grip fighting a lot and that's something that Stevens also teaches, I think it gets way too little attention in general - how important grip fighting really is to successful judo. It is worth it to win the grip battles, that's your stepping stone to a successful throw or a throw where your opponent can't stop you. When they took the jackets off and started doing more bjj, it seemed to me that at that point they were just having fun and no longer went for it seriously.

If you think someone trying to inflict physical force or grabbing you wont be stronger than you or his thumb will be weak as in 0:58, then my friends, you're also lying in this your video... there's lots of superstrong people , and in such a case, if you cant' run, id like to tell anyone in such a situation, don't resist or do such silly things as wave your hands, if you can't run, just cooperate and try to negotiate,, or better yet cooperate... violence only leads to more violence, better to try to understand and talk and find out what the assailant wants and try to convince him or her with your words,, remember, a kind response turns away anger or ill intent... have faith in people, theres a lot of good pple.. and you'll be allright

Travis is using 10% of his power not to humiliate a guy in his own dojo . Then Travis is totally out of shape : probably 20 kilos ( 40 pounds ) heavier than competition condition.

Shintaro I believe got his BJJ black recently. He must have been a brown belt at the time this video was taken.
@greasebob
@greasebob 3 месяца назад
What makes you say that?
@ConveyApp
@ConveyApp 3 месяца назад
@@greasebob Because he is also a very skilled BJJ practitioner. They clarified that with the opponent but not with him.
@greasebob
@greasebob 3 месяца назад
@@ConveyApp There are extremely skilled purple and brown belts that can roast many black belts out there-- skill level vs belt color can be deceiving. That said, Shintaro got his black belt in 2023, about a year after this video was posted, so he would have been a brown. To say that he would be visibly improved from then to now, just because hes been awarded black, is almost certainly not true.
