If you haven’t tried the DX mods for these games yet, I highly recommend them. They have full color and quality of life improvements like reduced slowdown.
Very well made video, with great observations & analysis, & valid opinions based on them. MMV really does seem to be a passion project by the team, who did their best to not be held back by the device it was for. And this video's a passion project in turn. 😌 I definitely need to give this game a try sometime.
This game, and the other Mega Man World games, deserve remakes. We almost got a compilation on the GBA in full color, but it was unfortunately cancelled. Thankfully, the fans have us covered. There are hacks that colorize the games, and there is a fan game in progress that remakes Mega Man V GB with the Mega Man 7 sprites, it's called Mega Man the Rulers of Space. Personally, I would like to see the Mega Man GB games be remade with the Mega Man Powered Up artstyle, since that game already had game boy esque level design.
Sonic "4" is a downgrade. It took out extra playable characters, it took out the elemental shields, it took out the exploration, and certain other things. No, the portal didn't take Classic Sonic to Sonic Forces. It took him to the Encore mode.
Tbh i do agree with the fact that the zones are too similiar to past ones, they could have created something brand new for the levels like they did 2 TIMES. Or maybe just take a past level's concept and use that same concept to make a brand new level(example: take the concept of a territory like hills or Mountains and make a level called " mountain zone") Someone is using this idea to make a sonic 4 episode 3 fangame
To all people saying sonic and knuckles is the actual sonic 4. sonic 3 and knuckles was actually suppose to be Sonic 3 normal but sonic team had to split the games cuz they didn't have enough time
Nice video, its crazy to see youtube recommend small channel that are good. I think youve made the structure of the videos a bit loose on the details to make people want to play those titles. Ive played this games alot with emulation, in my opnion megaman world 2, 3, 4, and 5 are the best classic 8 bit megamans (i kinda dont like the first megaman world because the game is too hard comparing to the other gameboy titles). The romhacking people are making the colour versions of those gameboy games but i still remember playing them in black and white. You didnt mention on the video but the animations used for wily levels, get weapon and ending of all those gameboy games are amazing. I think you being a megaman fan you probally know about thise game but if you havent you should check out Gravity Circuit.
Really digging these megaman retrospectives! I used to emulate everything i could get my hands on even in the late 90s, and I think i completely slept on these. Just saw how many subs you got, good luck and keep up the solid work !
Imagine playing Mario Kart 64 during the 1:30 Challenge for Mario Raceway from Nintendo Power Magazine only to ponder the sheer hassle of how to capture proof of it so send in during the pre cell phones, pre internet era. 😄
I was 10 years old when this game launched and remember fondly crowding in friends basements to play Diddy's Kong Quest. Glad a new generation discovered this gem and enjoyed it as much as we did. This game caused massive fights over whose turn it was constantly but enduring memories of friendships as well. lol Nostalgia mania.

To play on Ninja Hideaway 200cc you gotta get good and be a REAL player. I beat the Ninja Hideway 200cc staff ghost - it takes real SKILL (and patience). (also don't trick on ramps before a turn, drift off the ramp, you're welcome anyone who needed that) 14:00 MAD respect that they put this stuff in the free version too. Your Strikers video introduced me to ur channel and it would be interesting to compare it to Charged (it loses by so much imo)
To be sonic 4 means your game is shit, Plays Like shit, and looks like shit, it's made by dimps (Not sonic rush, Advanced games), or DOesn't have tails or knuckles
Great video dude I didn't even know that those specific games were referred to as Sandbox mario but I've always wondered what to call them. Lol but yeah the sandbox ones are definitely my favorite out of the Mario series.
I think you set your expectations a bit too high expecting petey pirranah in the first entry on the series. And its not like the other sport games had him except sluggers but they had everybody ever

sonic 4 wasn’t originally supposed to be sonic 4. it’s a mobile game later ported to console. the only reason it’s called sonic 4 is for marketing. Sonic mania is the true successor to sonic 3 and knuckles and deserves the title of sonic 4 more than this game
How's Superstars for you now that you got your hands on it? I personally really adore the game and all the new additions it's added to the gameplay (and cast!)
I have come from the future to tell you Sonic Superstars is... GREAT! Though whatever community you were a part of sounds miserable. I grew up with the Sega Genesis and I wouldn't be able to stand a community that honestly thought only the Classic Era titles were good and seriously thought gaming critics (who have always hated Sonic and suck at playing video games to begin with) are gospel. The Adventure Era (as coined via Generations) was amazing. Back to the topic at hand and I know this is cheating but I consider Sonic Triple Trouble 16 bit to be the real Sonic 4. Not only because of the gameplay but also the characterization and plot.
