Hi Guys! Welcome to my channel, my name is Mate Szabo, I make videos about repairing my BMW E36 M3. I do not have access to special tools, so my repairs are something anyone could try at home. My goal is to help people see the repairs so they can do it themselves, not hiring a mechanic for every repair. As well as getting my car in a state I would be satisfied with it.
Easier way is to disconnect the battery first and go inside then get to work. u have to pull the leather panel behind the door lever @2:33 withe airbag logo (just glue it back after) remove the air bag which is secured with 3 screws , unhook the orange connection and then u can access the inner part where ur able to pull the cable or reach for the actuator itself. IF ur having a hard time or have big hands u can loosen the door panel and push it back to give u more room to work on. Good luck
took me four days to get the left latch open, right latch still wont open... left latch took pliers to broken cable from inside the drivers side of car, machete under the hood, pulled on cable after removing grill,, used a knife to slide left side, used handle release from front of car.. I dont know what worked but finally the left side seems to be up a inch or so, now the right one.. could take four more days
Hello I wanted to know if it was possible to switch from a obc 7 button obc to a 12 button or 18 button on a 316i because i want to display the speedometer or the rpm digital
it seems on the e39 its sometimes the fuel-filler drainage because it just drains into the trunk and if the trunk holes are selaed with rubber plugs then you get standing water
My fix on my e36 M3 idles above 2k rpm. After checking all possible locations for leaks I took the intake manifold off and found that the CCV crankcase is loosely plugged in. My suggestion is to check all vacuum lines and location for leaks. I tightened down the crankcase and Car idles back to normal again.
Hey nice video! Just have one question. I have an e36 320i and I need to replace my throttle cable aswell. Do i need a specific cable for e36 or do generic cables work? Thank you very much
Helped me alot! Just to know that there are a sensor! (Could not find anyting wrong with the hood latch) Cleaned the sensor and connection on my E91, and the warning light for hood beeing open dissapered. Thanks!
My solution is to feel for the handle that shouldve popped up in the grill, try and pry it out, which will put tension on the cable, then pop it out from inside the cabin, then go back to the grill and pull again. Do this 4-6 times over and over, until the tension cable pops lol
I know this is an old comment but you basically have to remove the seatbelt trim then the black strip around the door panel and then start tugging at the handle then pry where these two indentations show at the right side of the door trim with a trim tool and then pop that part out and then start to slide the door panel out towards the right. I’ll probably post some more details somewhere on the internet
you need to adjust the cable at the throttle not the pedal you twist the threaded plastic part in or out to remove slack. the rubber grommet that pushes over the plastic piece that has threads on it. twist 1 side in or out and itll pull the tension out good luck!
But does it work the same for the outside door handle .. that’s where my problem is.. it opens from the inside but not the outside on my drivers door.. quite aggravating.
Hello dear friend. By chance you have the vehicle manual where it specifies the tests that can be carried out in the ICV. I'm having idle instability issues on my 1990 e30 320i. I came across a magazine article that said between the center pin (+) of the ICV connector and ground, you need to measure the battery voltage. And between the center pin (2) and pins 1 and 3, it should measure 10 VDC. In my case, pin 2 and pin 3 measure 4.1 VDC. I measured it at the output of the ECU (positive battery and pin 4 ECU) and the value is the same. I changed the ECU and the output voltage value between positive battery and pin 4 ECU is 4.1 VDC. Some help ?. Greetings from Chile, South America.
A used ICV is pretty cheap, so I would advise the same route I did and just get one. It was like 30 EUR, so not really a huge deal. If it turns out, the ICV is not your issue, you can re-sell for the same price
Sorry, I missed the notification. It is at 2:30 or so in video. You have to pop the clips from inside and pull on the trim. It requires quite the strength to do so, but that is how i did it
@@mateszabo4971 its okay mate. i watched your video several times, but i still dont get it. Which trim do you pull ? door trim or the chrome thingy trim ? i dont understand how to open the door trim while the door is closed. I missed the big picture here :(
@@chohyosasongkoaji1921 The door trim comes off together with the chrome. The chrome is just decoration, does not do anything. After popping the clips on top side, i pulled on it as at 2:40 and it came off
when all the clips are realised, and you pull the doortrim. will the doortrim torn apart ? considering you cant reach that screw in the air grill. This is my biggest concern
@@chohyosasongkoaji1921 Ah, okey i understand. The trim at the airgrill screwpoint will crack for sure. Not much that can be done about that. It is not visible though, so should not cause any issue
