As I'm planning to get a high-end classical straight razor, I've bought this extremely cheap low-end shavette to achieve the best skills. I believe that painful preparation and training makes for easy ultimate performance, so I expect switching to a classical straight razor will be a piece of cake. Today, I've done my second shave with this Bluebeard junk, and besides getting some five or six nicks I achieved a nice, smooth result. I suppose I'll take some ten more shaves with this, and I'll buy a Thiers-Issard instrument. Straight razors are fun to use.
Belangrijkste verschil is dat de kop van de slim een stuk dunner is dan die van de fatboy, Wat het onder de neus scheren moeilijk kan maken. Jammer dat je geen filmpjes meer maakt.
Thank you. I just bought a Dovo Shavette and there are no instructions with it. I was wondering how I was supposed to load the blade into it. This was very helpful.
I have 7 plus years of experience using a Parker Shavette and did try one of the longer ones, caution their for shaving your neck after a haircut. Way to light no feel at all and skip easily I was able to use once but not a good shave. The heavier the better with Shavettes.
You should make more videos. I’ve been Traditional WetShaving just over a year and a half now and it’s really fun using my vintage Gillette’s. I had over 20 modern and vintage but I recently downSized. Here are the ones I kept *GILLETTE* 1930’s “NEW” longComb Ball end Tech ( Gold ) 1948-1950 Aristocrat 1957 SuperSpeed (Flare tip) 1959 FatBoy 1964 Slim Adjustable 1969 BlackBeauty *Modern* Parker Variant Adjustable Parker 99R Fatip Grande (Open Comb) Muhle R-41 RazoRock BlackHalk V2
I find these a bit weak on the beard. I have a similar Gillette with standard steel grippy handle. I normally use an Edwin Jagger which has more blade showing thus yielding a more clean finish.
It would be nice if you guys wouldn't use your brushes during razor demos. Just keep some travel size shaving cream if you like to do razor demos and compares so we don't have to watch you lather for 20 minutes before the shave. Just a little input lol
Nice collection. I got into safety razors because of the mediocre shaves, high cost and terrible environmental impact of disposables. I hate to think of how much plastic I put into landfills and the oceans over the years. I use 47C and Feather blades. Can't go wrong with German and Japanese manufacturing.
Which one are the most agressive. I need a agressive DE razor. Non usa because off the high cost and € import duties. The R41 2009 is not for sale in EU any more.
I bet you The producers make them get a wetshave before putting the can of goo on their face. Lol their always clean shaven before!!! And yet they think all the consumers are stupid anyway 💈😁💈 I’ll stick with my Shavette and Muhle R-41
Fijn, bedankt! Uitleg please! :)
