Yeah, the ANK is a beast. I purchased the Civilian model because it is a little more useful having other addon options, and the active suspension is nice too.
That ice road slippery slide is always causing trouble. Really pays off to have a chained truck around. Looking forward to the price of victory done by a true professional and looking even more forward to Yukon. Think you'll bring out the superheavy 8 slot trailer there? I've heard it works quite well there.
One question. Do you plan to also use trucks that you cant get for free (while discovering maps or doing missions) and must be bought in shop, such as Azov trucks for example?
Great question. I originally wanted to see how far I could go before needing to purchase a truck, and while I don't feel I would have to at this point, I've been thinking about picking a couple up for Yukon.
@@zorshix Uf never thought of trying this, but i think it would be possible to complete all maps without purchasing a truck but who am I to judge. Only got back to playing the game because of your tutorials cuz they make game a lot less boring.
@mvettr793 yeah I don't think I would need to buy anything to keep going, but my bank account just keeps going up and I'm not doing anything with it. I figured this would bring in a new dynamic to the series. Glad you're enjoying the series, that's what I hope for. 🙂
@mvettr793 I got use to playing with the free trucks when I started playing hard mode. It makes everything go a lot smoother when you have money in the bank.
@@zorshix I am totally up for it. Alongside helping ease the gamplay it also adds variety to it. Cant wait to se them in Yukon as it will be a new map for me because i only ever completed 3 base regions.
You can refuel at the gas stations, any fuel tankers or trucks you find out in the wild, and the garage. You can also purchase a fuel trailer from the trailer store, or a tanker addon for your truck and take it with you.
@zorshix oh ok thanks. I found myself "cheating" by going back to recover at the garage. I just started so maybe I just haven't found the fuel station yet. The game is confusing. I went to try and first task/contract at the farm put realized I didn't have a trailer to load the supplies onto. I'll start to figure it thanks. I'll use your methods
@DirtydogMech yeah the game doesn't really explain anything. One tip: wait to do the trucking jobs until a little later when you get some upgrades and rank up a bit to unlock better stuff in the garage. I usually try to use the scouts to explore first because you can get better tires for them at a lower rank than the trucks.
@zorshix thank you that makes sense. I also noticed that you start 2 almost new games 1 at the garage and 1 in the "tutorial" section. Is that normal? Also thanks for always showing the map. Other videos, players just keep on driving as I'd we know where they're going. But you take the moment to pause and show the map. Thanks
@DirtydogMech yeah it's normal, the tutorial can be skipped and the real game begins at the garage in Black River. I try to remember to show the map but at times I forget because I don't usually reference it often when playing. It's something I'm working on.
I somehow managed to flip my P16 three times in the span of 10 minutes and luckily recovered every time by using a tree as a lever while winching with the CK1500. Truly the most unnecessary trouble I've went through so far just because I'm not watching the terrain lol.
@Hunt3rr4455 it takes a lot to rescue the P16 and the fact you did it with the Chevy is outright amazing. I've tried the same thing with a tree in Drummond Island and could not get it over so definitely impressive. Now watch the road! ✌️🙂
@@zorshix Haha it was quite the headache. I followed your hard mode start guide and it helped me a lot thanks. I need some help. I'm past your Hard Mode guide and I'm currently doing missions between Black River and Smithville Dam. So far I have 45k saved up. I'm wondering what truck I should buy first? I was thinking something like the Azov 64131 but I'm undecided. I do understand I can get more trucks by exploring but is there any worth buying in the store? I could also go to Tamyr and get the Tayga early lol. Or should I just play it out with the free vehicles? Your advice would be much appreciated.
@Hunt3rr4455 I usually play it out with the free trucks to keep a nest egg in the bank account until I get to around $200k. Having said that if you're looking to buy a truck to help ease the pain, the International Paystar 5070 is a great choice for the early game. It's in the offroad class, can equip mudtires, and comes standard with the top engine so you won't need any upgrades to effectively use it right away. The Azov is a great truck but it's expensive in the early game, and you won't have the top engine until finding it in Taymyr. It's really up to you as there are many different ways to play, this is just my opinion.
@cmgtbone they really do make them into completely different trucks, especially the GMC. It would be nice to have the AWD in Michigan as it would completely change the gameplay for me, at least in Black River.
@@zorshix I made a new + game where all upgrades were available from the start to do that. I use it for multi-player as I don't have all the DLC maps yet.
@@zorshix Personally, I'm a total fan of your choice of music. These long-ish vids really benefit from some musical filler. Your choice of non-invasive, down-tempo, with the occasional quasi-classical, is spot on IMO. Thanks.
As always, thank you for another entertaining, and informative, video. I am on a temporary break in Yukon, but I am using the GMC there. Likely not the best truck, but it has managed a handful of tasks.
It has its limitations in the later maps but is definitely a capable truck in the realm of early game trucks. It's kind of too bad they waited so long to give the AWD upgrade because with it the GMC is a dominator in Michigan and Alaska. See you in Yukon soon, getting closer.
My son and his friend say the rocks in Kola "have CLAWS" Lol! I've never taken more damage from an icy pebble than in Imandra! Hahahaha! This is a sweet episode! I've been up to drop containers trying to go around on the west side, only to have a "Dude, WTF?!?!" moment when you realize you can't actually drop anything off! HA! Primo tip there! Overall great work, as usual! Killer tips and route planning! Thanks for takin us along! And the music was also really good. It always is, but this episode definitely stood out! Sweet action!🍬🏃 🤘
@rvdeddrift That landslide got me in hard mode when I took the Twinsteer around the west side and couldn't drop it off. I had to drive that big beast around the trees on the rock cliff to the left of it and get to the other side to complete. What a nightmare! 😂 I'm trying out some new music that is more of a reflection of who I am. It's always difficult to find with copyright limitations but I'm testing a new music service (on trial period) and trying to decide if I should go all-in on the subscription. I've pretty much gone through everything I could find with RU-vid's free audio tracks, and there's only so many times I can keep repeating the in-game music across episodes, so hopefully this service pans out and is worth it. Appreciate your feedback, it helps a lot man! ✌️
@@zorshix I've been gaining a lot of ground on my Hard Mode save, and this is exactly the thing I was referencing! Like you, I was super bummed! Lol! You have really good visuals, especially yer intro, and the audio is always on point , but I do like to mention when it piques my interest, or stands out! I have used a ton of GhostHack for edits I have done for folks down at the skatepark I work near, and for some fishing lodge promo videos we used to make for clients during their stays. But finding that right style, that suits you as a person is important. It helps the audience kinda "know" where you come from, so to speak. Music is a powerful tool, and you use it incredibly well!
I haven't heard of GhostHack but now I have more resources to look into. Thanks for that. Music is a huge passion of mine, and I want to let people in, to know who I am.
Hello Zor I’m relatively new to your channel and I am enjoying the content. I play Snowrunner too but with mods. Your kola penensula play through is helping me understand the difficult terrain. Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@CarrotDoesTheCrazy-YT Welcome aboard! So glad you're enjoying it. Mods are a lot of fun, and I'm not against them, I'm just not using them for this series. Kola Peninsula is a steep learning curve of terrain navigation compared to the base game and I'm happy I can help in some way. Appreciate your feedback and look forward to hearing from you again. 🙂
@@zorshix Thanks for your reply. Do you have any tips for Kola because I want to use a mix between mods and base game trucks. What are the best scouts and cargo haulers?
@CarrotDoesTheCrazy-YT Tips for vanilla vehicles - the Tatarin will pretty much do everything for exploration without issue but the YAR87 does well for other scout tasks. For hauling - I like to use the smaller trucks like the Step310 because they fit in the tight areas and between trees better than big ones, but some of the jobs in Imandra require a bigger truck. In those cases the Azov 64131 does well because it's a stable and fuel efficient 8x8. Also the Voron D is a good choice if you don't want to use the Tayga.
I have a game save that is straight up mod madness! Sometimes when I get absolutely stuck or confused trying to get somewhere... I roll around in that P12 Orca II truck, and never(well......hahaha!) tip over, and never get stuck... Lol! And you can't race around in Wisconsin without an absolute hot rod of an over powered vehicle! His videos drastically cut the learning curve for folks that are new to the game, and can help increase enjoyment by cutting down the number of redundant trips and showing us where to stage different trailers and vehicles to assist in that region streamlining! All together a good time on this channel!
@rvdeddrift Duuuuuude, I know the P12 Orca you're talking about! That thing is the most monstrous of monsters and goes through everything with ease. It's a fun ride for sure. I also used to use the F-750 that has a low saddle for hauling semi-trailers and huge tires. That too was a fun mod truck. Most of my first playthrough was with a Tayga mod that had three drive axles. It was unstoppable.
I’m surprised how far you got I think my hardest part is rebuilding the garages like the others. I think those are really hard for me. I think you can do it.
@liddynicole The garage is difficult to open I agree, but you can do it. Don't give up! You will have a great sense of accomplishment when you do. You got this! 👍
I tried and tried and tried to get the garage and I never succeeded. I got like I don’t know 10 trucks in that map I got scouts to refill trucks I tried it with. I tried it with any possible truck. I could think of that could get like I have mods on six trailer two beams. and two fuel for the landslide in mountains well not that white mountains but at the end of episode 13 I was gonna go to that but then that annoying tree made my truck flip so then I got another truck that it flipped out the Rocky section over by the hill that was actually gonna go into my diesel truck. Bought my gooseneck semi trailer but then I said I’m gonna go season 13 do you like some tasks? I had the Ford and my diesel truck and my goose semi, but I just wanted to work on a different app so I decided I was gonna use the utility unit the custom bed with the roof rack for an extra fuel and repair points but I said no I’m gonna go work somewhere else. The story.
This one can be quite frustrating. Taking a break from it is probably good to regain composure. Don't worry, you will get it unlocked. I detailed a basically straightforward way to do it, and you can ignore the additional tasks I did along the way to just focus on the garage itself. I believe in you, you got this ✨👍
It's a paid DLC region. You can purchase it alone or part of the year one pass. It can be found in the content browser on the main menu. Great question BTW. 👍
What equipment are you running? I came into your videos late in the game as far as playing through the base game, and I really like the bits where you talk about why you choose certain equipment over others, like the all-terrains instead of mud tires, or using the balanced gearbox on the Transtar instead of offroad gearbox. After you talked about how good the Transtar is on highway, I went and got one from the garage, put tires on that I thought would be good for mud despite how skinny the fronts look (I think UOD II?), and ran it out to the Drummond with the gooseneck trailer. I seemed to have more trouble in light mud than you do in your videos, and I think I might recover it and apply the tires and gearbox that you suggest. But I don't know what tires you ran on it. Did you put all-terrain on it? Looks like the UAD II might be the best option for this truck, like you did on an earlier video. What do you think?
Those are great questions 👍 I believe I used the UAD III tires in this episode because they have the highest off-road rating. Although the UAD II tires do have the highest mud rating for all-terrains. The UOD II tires are considerably better in mud than any all-terrains though. It may not have appeared like it in the video but I did struggle in the muddy areas of Drummond with the tires I had. The most important thing to consider is the gearbox choice when you're using the Transtar. Since it does not have diff lock you really don't want to use low gear in the mud because only one or two of the back tires will spin. If you use Auto, most of the time all four wheels will spin which kind of acts like diff lock. Auto in the balanced gearbox has a little higher gear ratio then the off-road and it is more likely to get all four of them moving. Last of all try not to drive through the deepest parts of the mud but instead drive around it if possible. In theory the UOD II's should have better performance so I would start with the gearbox. Also make sure you have the top engine installed to get that extra power to turn those wheels. Hope this helps and thank you for your support! 🙂
Feels weird that youre so low on subscribers.. Your video quality is excellent and i love your editing. Feels even better than some of the „popular“ youtubers. You definitely deserve way more. Judging by your quality i wouldve guessed youre at around 100k followers rather than 1000
Appreciate your accolade! While I give every video my 100%, I just started this journey about 9 months ago and had no idea what I was doing. We all start somewhere right? I feel good about the rate of growth the channel is at with the level (or lack) of experience that I have. It's been a very difficult road to get this far, and I appreciate all the support I've had along the way. Thank you @cyclehd7360 ✌️🙂
This is a particularly great episode! The amount of time yer guides save is incredible! But this one in particular will make Kola much quicker...... Trust me! Lol! I like the victory send into the lake! Lol! Great episode! Thanks for showing us the way!
The fact you did it with a flat tire is insane! And i had no idea that you could unpack the cargo to alleviate weight, kinda bs, but hey, it works. Cant wait to do this tomorrow!
So efficient and smooth. Thanks for another great episode. On a side note, I am disappointed with the F750, even with the Het/10V 6.6 engine. Still seems to be under-powered, and the fuel usage is quite high.
It's not really powerful enough to haul cargo with big trailers (it should have had a scout hitch instead) but it does well with the roof racks as a repair and refuel scout. If you want it to pull trailers better you can leave all the addons off and it will have more power/efficiency. The addons are quite heavy.
@@zorshix I have tried posting this twice before, but it won't take. Maybe this third time will work. But I received some excellent advice regarding the F750 from H34TLE and FenriR on your Discord.
The Big Cat is an amazing rig! Lol! It really does work in sloppy parts of any region! I also wish it had a big snorkel... But it would basically be a submarine at that point! Hahaha! The thing just goes! Sweet episode dude! Thanks for takin us along! Can't wait to start tackling tasks with ya over here in Imandra!
It's definitely a capable machine, and out of all the trucks I've used to do this contract it seems like a great fit. If it had a snorkel it would be unstoppable yes. Hope you guys are enjoying your summer. 🌞
