I think there is nothing wrong targeting foreigners. Dubai is also built entirely on a foreign population to sustain its economy. There are pros and cons to this strategy.
That was a China city. But soon the Malaysian and Singapore governments are going to turn it into a Duty Free Trade zone where Singapore companies will shift to as Singapore does have much land to expand its industries in its own backyard anymore.
Indeed. You are spot on. Now, Duty Free Trade zone is the best case scenario where both the Malaysian and Singaporean side can capitalize on each other. Singapore has the capital and Malaysia has the space and natural resources. The real issue is about politics. If only things are that easy on the political level....... :D
The only country that can save Forest City is Singapore. If Singapore allows a regular hourly ferry services between Forest City to the heart of Singapore, all the unsold units will be snapped up by Singaporean.
Well interestingly, at the sales gallery in Forest City there was a proposal to have another bridge to Forest City. This will be a 3rd bridge that allows cars to travel directly to Forest City from Singapore. Instead of having regular ferry services, the developers wants to have a dedicated immigration custom just for the residents in Forest City. There is an ongoing special economic zone talks between Singapore and Johor. As you mentioned, whether Forest City truly flops, or will become a miracle success depends highly on Singapore and its policies. The stigma of the failed developer - Country Garden will continue to deter potential investors. Nobody wants their money to go into a project that has a high risk of never being completed. It's more than just Singaporean investing in Forest City. In my opinion, the developers still need rich real-estate-loving Chinese from China to save Forest City.
@@dalisoh In my opinion, building a third bridge cost too much. Singapore for sure is not going to pay for it, cause it doesn’t make sense to bear those costs just to save Forest city. Even if Forest city is going to cover all costs, there is still a running cost to maintain a new immigration check point on Singapore side. As for running a ferry service for both sides, I believe Marina Bay Cruise Center already has an immigration checkpoint, hence making it easier to negotiate with the Singapore government. The main problem of Forest City relied heavily on foreigners buyers as investment or second home. If majority of these foreign homeowners do not live there, no shop owners there can survive. Without shops and restaurants, no one will move in there permanently. Without regular homeowners staying there, it will become a ghost town. Once it’s a ghost town, no new buyers will be interested to invest in this property. The fastest way to boost up the interest on Forest city is to find a way to connect to Singapore either it’s by road or by sea. I believe a lot of Singaporeans might find it attractive to live in Forest City. Just like in Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay. People there enjoy taking ferry to main HK island to work or leisure, while living in Discovery Bay as their holiday resort.
I am not sure about the Singaporean Government having to pay for the bridge. It was mentioned in the Forest City's sale gallery that a bridge will be built. I would think it is safe to presume that the construction cost of the bridge is also factored into the $100B investment of the entire project. Indeed, it is a vicious cycle as you have mentioned. No shops, no people, no investors = ghost town. It takes the pioneering few to take the initial plunge into the unknown. Will you be laughing at the guinea pigs of the Forest City project? Or will they be gloating at the naysayers in the future?
FC is holding a sales counter NOW in CHINATOWN POINT spore ...but no success...us$100 BILLION... wow... someone r losing their pants... @ 1% interest loss per day....only chance of success is 4 FC 2 b sez with seperate laws , passport like palm spring....or rot 2 dust....loser jb king n bankrupt country garden msia is 2 proud 2 lose 2 spore
Is this a place where you can go alone and randomly invite anybody to dance? Everywhere in Singapore, all so-call social events, you need to bring your own partner to dance. Even if you ask onsite, its hardly any one would take your hand. Please shed some light as these groups are generally very coveted.
No. This is not a place that anyone can go and dance. Tanglin club is one of the most prestigious clubs in Singapore and there are limited memberships. According to Tanglin Club's website: "Prospective Members applying for Ordinary or Term Membership must be proposed and seconded by two active Ordinary Members of the Club with a minimum of three years' Membership." I was lucky to be invited as a guest to Tanglin club to experience dancing there. You'll be surprised that people are pretty open to dancing with each other and if you are there alone, it's perfectly fine too. I am not a regular there. I danced while I was in college and I have forgotten all my dance moves. I would highly recommend that you become a member as they have a lot of organised events all year round. You can find more information: www.tanglinclub.org/membership/membership-forms-services.html.
@@dalisoh I believe as long as you pay guest fee, you can just attend. It's the same at every club. What i meant is if you managed to invite ladies to dance at all. Going alone has already formed quite a hard impression on me on singapore dance culture that nobody rotates or actually socialize over dance. Most that I know hire DI (Dance instructor) or just do ProAm. That said, it might be different due skill levels as the ones that I am familiar with are mostly more competitive as compared to the more laid back look from your video. I am really looking for real socials that are more laid back and doesn't shy themselves away (saying they lousy and don't dare dance with you or whatever excuses). And mentioned earlier, these dance circles are so secretive that it is hard to join or even find.
Ok. I don't know about you but I am invited by my lady friends to go clubs like this. Now, I think it's important to be comfortable in your own skin and be just a little thick skin to ask someone to dance with you. The worst case scenario is just a no. I am pretty thick skinned :D Perhaps you might want to give Tanglin club a go. Everyone will form their own perspectives and experiences that are very distinct. You might have as much fun as I do. I am definitely in no way competitive and I am just keen to have fun, drinks, and a good laugh. I don't take dancing that seriously.......

Monks build walls to try to keep themselves from lusting after women, but the problem is that the thoughts that they have are “spiritual” in origin. Those thoughts come from demons and they are evil spirits. And stone walls don’t hinder their fiery darts. Only the Lord Jesus and the Blood of Jesus can protect a person from them. A person also needs to renew his or her mind in the Word of God each day.
Traditional mochi making requires lots of team work and synergy. Any thoughts on the mochi-making process? By the way, the mochi is extremely tender and delicious....
Have you tried fugu fish before? Let me know what your experience is trying this delicacy for the first time. I was very shocked too when the dish was presented to me.
