Using Petrochemical products instead of Hydraulic Concrete is the problem. Wrong product for the job. Regardless of cost. Raise the bar a little, please for America's roads. If the Romans can do it 2,000 years ago?
Lipstick on a Pig. Good one. So is this the best American work crews can provide? If the asphalt was poured thick enough originally with the correct mixture, it wouldn't crack in the first place. Correct mixture being "Hydraulic Concrete". Not "assphalt. There are Roman roads and bridges being used today almost 2,000 years old and holding up. Hydraulic Concrete is the "magic". What is it? Normal concrete mixture with "ash" from certain volcanoes. Like Mt. Vesuvius. That's it. It's not Rocket science, It's more like baking. Perfect Measurements of ingredients. Applied Lavishly. Lasts damn near forever. It's really stupid not doing things right the first time. And costly.
Lol this is not a repair this is just plain laziness. They need to tear the old road up and put new down. This is just a half ass patch job that will need redone again in 3 months if that. Waste of tax payer money
Shabby work. Tear it out and lay new. That patch will not last. Asphalt has become a minute surface. Installers go cheap on the base and the thickness. They also use the larger stone which caused a loose bond. A finer aggregate makes a nicer and tighter surface that last longer.
First off that area need cut out and replaced, this pour on and spread out crack fill is bullshit, it would take days for that to dry, if it ever dried being that thick, and when it dries its going to shrink,alot, this product dose not work like they are showing, if in a commercial aspect you would use this, big trucks will pull it right up, we tried using this in diffrent applications over the years, it takes a long time to dry, so the way they are showing you here, to fix something so bad as this area, is bullshit, that wont ever dry, not for days, if it rained the next day, you will have untold problems, and you know this busted up area is going to retain water after a rain, this is a bullshit post, not to mention the cost, this stuff is like a 100 $ a bucket, so you can fix it correctly by the time you do it wrong with this shit
Can this be performed on a commercial parking lot, in place of resurfacing? Would it be better to level out with road base (crushed lime) and then skim coat / seal? I'm just thinking if this is silicone, it fillls, but won't have the density of compressed road base. It looks slick, but will it have longevity to used before resealing, and old grey asphalt parking lot?
