I'm Kaitlyn from Leaf Me Alone Plants, welcome to my Channel! This is a place for us all to learn and enjoy the plants that brighten our lives. I release care videos for new plants every single week as well as fun plant-related content, hope you come along for the ride!
Question, I wasn’t sure if the stalk was normal since in other succulents it is common for people to not want the stalk look. Is this a normal ogre ear look? Am I doing it right?
I understood you well. Not sure what other people are having trouble with lol anyway I’m having issues with mine going limp some of the other branches? Arms? Are doing fine.
Ive had mine since 1994. In a pot, grew to 4 feet drop a seed pod for the first time. From LA to san diego it has moved. Just planted it in my turtle enclosure. Had turtle since 1998. Both have always been outdoors.
Are you meant to leave the tuber uncovered? I repotted mine and covered the tuber totally. It's very unhealthy, I'm about to be left with one leaf. Thank you for the info on it being toxic, i didn't know that
Ohh hiya cleaveage 😅 Sorry, thank you…anyway serious question: I got a Mexican resurrection plant. It bloomed great. Lived in water for about a year and started to look less and less green (while still in water). I was off on holiday soon anyway so let it dry out for a few months and then back in water. It bloomed again but still no green. Added plant food and brighter light…still no green…what am I doing wrong here?
I live in Phoenix and bought one last spring from Berridges Nursery (a good quality place). I had it hanging under a porch and watered it about every week more or less. Then it began to be super hot and I saw that some stems were dry and dead. I brought it in and cut off some dead parts. I wasn’t sure if it was the heat or overwatering. I tried to cut off some healthy leaves that had dried straw colored bases, let them harden off and repotted them in the same pot. It didn’t work. Any suggestions? I think it’s in a good place in a bathroom with a skylight.
Great video. Thanks. I now know to put my Opuntia out in the sun. I didn't realise they could be outside in the UK. But with our severe heat, I think they will be safe. They are bought for my tortoise. If she will eat them. Very fussy tort. 🙄
Good video but I would dispute a couple points she makes here. Pineapples love the sun, just look at a commercial pineapple farm. They are grown in large, open areas with no shade. Also, watering from the top is fine. If it were detrimental to the plant's health, they would never survive outdoors because of the rain. I live in Thailand and currently have 10 plants growing outdoors, all less than a year old. My oldest plant is 11 months old and at least twice as large with more leaves than the one she has in the video. Six are grown in the ground and 4 in pots and all plants are doing great in 3 different soil types. It's too bad YT doesn't allow photos so you can see them. All were grown from the tops the same way she shows in the video.
Thanks! I live in Palm Springs, which is almost the same climate as Phoenix, and it can be difficult to keep some plants going in our super dry climate. This was very helpful and I am going to water more!
I have a 5 foot one. The new leaves are growing ,look green then start to turn black and seem to have a sticky substance. Then die. I have grown this from 12 inches. New house with less indirect light? Help!
I usually have excellent luck with plants and gardening, but my poor sensitive plant might not make it. What am I doing wrong? Is it too hot outside? Should I bring it in? Is the pot too big? Is it getting too much water? Wrong soil?
I know this an older video but how often would you say you water? Once a week or once every two weeks? I don't wanna over water mine I'm so scared 😳 I killed my ming aralia a while ago 😢
Hi, I have one of these, love it but remains to challenge me. Since I moved it to a Lechua pot with the pon it seems to have struggled in the last year. Granted I had to deal with the spider mites. Does this plant to prefer to be constantly moist, which the Lechua pot and pon does or does it prefer to dry out in between watering? It is in direct light. Thanks
