As a Swede myself and have followed Pettersson throughout the years, from what I can tell Pettersson wants to play in Vancouver, he has no reason to go anywhere else, and now he's getting the big bucks. I think the the problem is that he has lost himself. When he entered the league I told people that I hope they don't try to fix something that is not broken, "Get Pettersson stronger, make him do more hits, he needs to train on skating he falls a lot", the truth is, Pettersson performed magically when he was a bambi feather on ice, because that's where his adapted style was since childhood. They have experimented too much with Pettersson and he's now tilted because he's playing bad, we are talking about a guy that used to get upset for not scoring every-time he took a shot. Pettersson is a play-maker, not a McKinnon or McJesus, but he has completely lost himself.
no excuse for someone making 11.6 million. he's been a mid tier player since the all star. how much longer can he be "getting better" for? he needs to start putting up points like he's being paid to do. he is the WORST player making double digit $. Torally agree! It's the NHL!! He's a young, elite talent, and he now gets a lot more attention from opposing teams, since the start of his career. People think the NHL is easy, but it's not; even elite athletes have to learn their way and learn to apply their skill against the best teams.

He is gone, I don’t see he is coming back to elite status anytime soon, he has lost all of his confidence, more games he goes without goals, more he be terrible, what do you even do? He is making over $145k a game for next 8 years

i haven't missed a WJC game in 20 years+. i watch them all. i remember lankinen winning the gold against the U S in 2019. he was lights out and i can't believe nobody scooped him up before the canucks got him.
