bought my r m e in jan 2024 , new she was a long term project, shes a 1950 r m e 1 . 5 , riley , tax disc , yes tax disc on passengers front window says sep 1973, last on road , no history on her other than she is a barn find , AREAL BARN FIND , , sat under a hole in the roof , when it rained snowed , it came right down on the back area , from back of front seats theres no floor rotted awa , no back seats , rotted away , rust, head linning has gone , front seats crusty , but might come around , dash light for heater came on lol when i put a battery on her . , but engines stuck as in the photo , engine will be coming out , soon , front grill was bent , pulled it out , wher did all the dirt come from, it was every where , i am in the prosess of taking her down to bare metal . at moment , with paaint stripper, brakes are good shoes ok . brake pipes gone , tons of greese under neath , , hoping the oil from the sump didnt all come out , and thats why she s stuck ??? cant remember how much came out it is what it is oh her name is ,,,, wait for it w d 40 lol you can gues why lol thomas
Absolutely beautiful, always wanted one since I was a kid (even this same color) for the styling, but so many issues with them. this car is amazing! How much?
Brings back memories from my youth. My father bought a new 1949 3/4 ton pickup in the same color as this one. We use that truck hard in our construction work. Eventually we removed the pickup be and replaced it with a home built flat bed.
If you have to ask, don't bother. It will cost more than the vehicle cost initially. This was produced on a small scale at karmann plant in Osnabrueck. I used to stamp the frames for the roof. The stamping tools are long gone.
I like the wheels, but would put them on a different build. This car deserves to have the original wheels and caps with whitewall tyres. Other than that, great job!
I know I am old, 79 now ... In 1963 I had a 1954 2DR post "Sedan" I put a built 312 in it. But that said are my old eyes deceiving me? How did your Coupe become a Sedan in the end?
