You can use the front or back of the NSK flattening stone if you desire to preserve the diamond portion you can simply use the back

Ok, this really made a difference in the flattening speed. I didn’t even consider prepping the flattening stone, but once I did it was a lot faster. I am curious if there is an even faster way though, and can we make the stone cut more aggressively?

This makes sense, I was getting deep scratches from the edges and not full contact with the whole stones. Was an easy fix 👍🏻
