I've been coming to Ceann Sibeal every April for the past 10 years (other than during Covid). I've played some bad golf more often than I care to admit, but I've never had a bad time there. I love the place and the people.
The clubhouse members are not fully housetrained yet, they sit around like orangutans, drinking and laughing, probably at the cost we pay to play the course,
Absolutely love the Island. Have played three times and each time I have been received so warmly. Have had many pints pre round in that clubhouse. What a gem.
I've never experienced golf snobbery like I did the day I played The Island from some of the members. I never went back but its a seriously good course. Really tough
Nice video. It's a lovely place to play. O'Meara really is lovely but a real gripe I have is calling an inland course a "links". At a stretch I'd say it's styled like a links but there's far too many bunkers on the Montgomery. They should remove some. A links its not.
This is my home course for life. My dad Bob Wallace who just passed away basically lived there. I have so many stories about learning this great game there. Watching this video give me goosebumps. Cheers.
Robert, thank you for the kind words... your Dad had good taste in golf courses and I'm sure enjoyed his time there, truly great and underrated course, amazing what Paul and the staff have done in the past few years.
