I really enjoy the process of seeing you do things in real time, messing up, fixing things, inserting addendums. It’s good to see how things play out if you do this or do that or accidentally do that and how to solve the issue. I much prefer this style of tutorial over the highly-edited-and-perfected style

Ive been making vtuber models for a long while now, and as ive gotten better at it its been equally frustrating that all the tutorials on youtube are all very "beginner" tutorials so I could never grow, learn more shortcuts, or advance my models. Now im having an issue when i move an item it makes the whole item move and it wont fix it back unless i fix it back on the solid one but it keeps going back n forth between this wahh Edit: fixed it bc the keyfames kept being deleted for some reason? lol
I love how you made every model! Everything unique! My OC is silly enough to be a male! (I am a female but prefer he/him even if I'm genderfluid) My male OC is a silly guy I created and really would love to see him as a human, but I can't draw humans at all.. I don't like using AI cause.. It isn't unique and quite plain and boring. I want him to be special and whenever my friends draw him/fanart of him I explode. One day I promised myself that I will find someone or myself to draw my OC as a human/dragon human hybrid one day! (He is originally a dragon but gave him a human au!)
Hi Merely! Thank you for the tutorial! I’ve been doing great up until this point. At the 0:21 mark or where you put everything together I run into a problem. When I try to make “Head XY” as a deformer it says: Please create an object with the same parent deformer selected. I’m now lost lol. I’m thinking maybe it’s because in the top left box (sorry idk what the name is lol) my “Head Z” isn’t a folder it’s just combined with the rest of the contents? I know you don’t have to but if you could please attempt to explain how I could fix this I’d be super appreciative!

PS. Procreate layer limit depends on your IPad’s specs! I specifically upgraded to an IPad Pro (12.9 inch) 6th gen to get more layers🙏 DPI doesn’t affect the digital drawing, it is only a setting you set for printing! For other free softwares, Ibis paint should work too, and I’m gonna try to find free PC softwares, I saw some recommend gimp so feel free to try To combine the model in PS, ctrl+c on a folder in one file and shift+ctrl+v (shift to paste in center) in another file, then adjust the position, pretty straightforward!
i want to ask about a problem i ran into when adding 3 keyforms for the head. When adding that, suddenly the back hair (long hair) are pushed to the front making the neck and the upper clothes not visible. Is there a way to fix that? Thank you!!
I wish there had been a mouth glue tutorial ;; I tried to do it with the brow one but it doesn’t work at all, mouth is so different from brows, I have no clue what I am doing wrong…. maybe there can be a small mouth glue tutorial in the future, that would be awesome!

wish you would have actually walked through everything rather than just posting a solution in the comments, tutorials great except for all the miss labeled parts, the reflecting, not showing what items your clicking on to be able to create the deformer, ect. Not a hater, but extremely frustrated because i feel at this point I need to restart my model and use a different tutorial because of all the back tracking. Why are we renaming deformers rather than naming them correctly in the first place. why are we using reverse language when you could have just labeled left as left rather than labeling it right and needing to correct to left. I get its mirrored but you could still name the parts correctly so we arnt playing a reversal game. Your models are beautiful but this isnt 100% a beginner friendly tutorial, ive had to go back and slow down everything multiple times just to see what layers your clicking onto to understand how your getting your deformers. also you explain everything except how deformer hierarchies work.
This is a faster paced tutorial bc that is what keeps me attentive, and I def recommend slowing things down if you need it! I named my parts in a more intuitive way which is the reverse of what the program defaults to, and I didn’t change the program’s default naming bc I didn’t want more confusion plus its was too late to change. Only the eyes are reversed, so you’re good once you get past that🙏 Renaming deformers is only bc it’s an easier practice to copy paste instead of creating a new one and having to resize+recenter. I do regret not explaining deformer hierarchy but I did post an infographic on it in my discord FAQ, otherwise a quick search on live2d hierarchy could help! Will consider making a FAQ video going more into fundamentals tho
Ahh this is so helpful!! I wanted to draw my vtuber in pro create before too but the layer limit just sucks and i had to learn how to do it from scratch in clip studio😢 I’ll definitely do the cutting strat next time ty do much for this vid😩🙏
