I am passionate about sport, science, psychology, the environment, Scotland and education. I am a director, cameraman and editor, but before all of that I was a scientist, consultant, athlete and performance analyst , so I bring a diverse skill set to my productions. My main focus is on getting inside the black box of high-level athletic performance and understanding the mindset of top athletes, in both mainstream and adventure sports. As a geomorphologist, by training, I have a keen interest in the processes that shape the landscape in which many of these sports take place and understanding how climate change is affecting these play grounds.
Funny I'm just now seeing this YEARS later. Gwin not doing so well in France and his crashes have him trending apparently. I still have hope that he can turn it around with Intense...
E13 stuff is incredibly ass, I broke a chain guide and my dropper is short and slow. He deserves better. Do love intense bikes, but they aren’t making great development choices.
a friend of mine we cale the destoyer has an e 13 crank because of treks weird 55 chainline and it holds up fine. He already broke some dropper. a hope crank and lots of other stuff...
I can't imagine he is, he was so good when he was with YT. It all changed when he changed teams. He's riding a whole new prototype bike this year, we'll see if he still got it
You are so right. No rider should get any sort of income if they are not winning races anymore. Not even if you are Aaron Gwin, FIVE TIMES WORLD CUP CHAMPION! Go get your income somewhere else, loser! 🤦🏻♂️
We all have ups and downs in life. It's easy to criticize, he has some issues getting himself and the bike in order that's certain. Is he still world cup and factory material? Yes. Will we make a comeback and prove you wrong? Maybe
looking at your crappy snow compared what we have in utah i guess we are spoiled,ha ha ha!! my # 1 factor is how many people are crowding my lanes! never weekends,never...
Is it just me who’s noticing the height of his saddle?? 😳 Unless it’s a dropper that actuated mid-crash, it’s little wonder he was bucked over the bars.
His saddle does seem high, but that just must be the way he runs it. As far as him getting bucked, I think that was simply a result of him smashing into a rock. He was pretty hard on the binders, so I suspect he was coming in too hot. I'm sure there's an interview somewhere where he talks about this.
DH racers wear alot of armor… I’ve had some nasty wipeouts with armor. No big deal, but without armor you can goto the hospital if you land the wrong way. The ac joint separation is super common without shoulder protection. To be fair the soccer players are only protecting themselves and their massive salaries. Its looks stupid when they flop, but if they allow hard tackles and they only have tiny shin guards then there will be a lot more injuries.
@@EVO1087R DH racers do not wear much armour at all actually other than knee pads and a helmet. Most are just wearing a jersey, and at most a padded undershirt. Nobody is saying football should have hard tackles, it's the diving, obvious acting and general attitude of making things look worse than they are that people can't stand.
Standing staring uncomfortably into the gully, with the rising rush of equal parts adrenaline and fear. Drop in. Accelerate. Jump and turn. Again, again, again. The gully disappears behind in the shadow and the sounds you heard are quickly realised as your own. Stop and look back. Yes that was you. You did it. That is Type 2 fund, and it's amazing.
