nah... something is fishy. I own a 107 and although it's behaving similarly I never had the chance to get it to 8K rpm. Needless to say, it seems way too much for rev for a 1L naturally aspirated engine.
@@Therollinglegend Hiya. Ngl idk how, because I bought the car and only changed the spark plugs. (And new wheels) sooo I don't know how urs caps at that? I'm not very good mechanically. Maybe it's cuz mine has done well below 50k miles?
@@bradmace6144 swapped my engine with a 40k mile one because old one died recently.. Oh well, Aygo's are weird and shitty cars and they're all different Lmao
@@Therollinglegend Damn that does sound shitty. I think you may have had bad luck then bro. Because mine has been hella durable with the bad way it's been treated 😬 (by me) How have you treated yours ?
well i don't know what was wrong but these engines and gearboxes are from Daihatsu, and basically bullet proof. So either it was damaged before by over heating or lack of oil or constant abuse or something. But mechanical failure (even on a reasonable high mileage cars) is incredibly uncommon on these cars...
@@raymondk2202 Yes, the engine is designed by Daihatsu and sold by Toyota; the 1KR-FE. It won quite a few awards years ago because of how incredibly light it is, along with being pretty darn durable. The C1 is recently acquired from my Nan' is at 59,000mi, and thanks to the fact she got it properly serviced almost every year, it stills feel like new! There's even an article floating around somewhere of a race-modified C1 that managed to go quite a few laps with no oil (purely by accident!) before it finally gave up. Now that's durable xD
