After trying it just focusing on hoards of bugs it seems to peform really well. But the fact that i had me and my mates all in a mech shooting at the head of a bile titan was absolutely ridiculous. All 4 of us shooting at its head took like half our magazines. This goes for chargers too
With the amazing early success of XDefiant (700k concurrent players/8 million unique players in the first week), that game, and possibly others of the same genre, is where the dev resources will go.
If you talk to the captain on the super destroyer, he talks about how Meridian is destroyed. Past tense, the whole planet. Sounded like it was compressed into something very small.
I kinda like the mech, but only against bots. Against bugs its really not worth it, stick with the patriot. And I get planning, but why limit us to one or the other? That makes no sense to me. If I could give advice to them, beyond what you've already stated, I'd say to give it more armor. Sure, slow it down as a trade off as well. But if its supposed to hit hard and have lower ammo because of it...make it endure more as a trade off. An actual tank type of mech. Would make it much more useful...and not have its arms blown off by the sheer number of rockets...
Its already too late, Arrowhead can make as much changes as possible but Sony destroyed their game and all their nerfs ruined the remainder of their players fun and leave. No hope for helldivers in my book.
This thing was designed under the balance sabotage regime. Of course it needs to be fixed. Totally expected. People need to stop expecting development to be a light switch.
yeah its good- but the idea that "its only for bots" makes no sense- the only reason the patriot is "For bugs" is because its weapons and armor are too light for the bot front. The emancipator has increased armor and weapons... or at least it should be- the armor IS stronger than the regular patriot- BUT the main Guns (Quad Autocannons) are for some reason weaker than even the players normal autocannon stratagem and the Sentry- this is weird because- why would adding an extra 3 guns of the same Weapon Type- make it weaker? Lore wise its just weird for this to be the case- gameplay wise- it sucks that it does not do enough damage on either front- bots or bug- the only reason it even works on bots is the armor pen on the autocannon- but i assure you- if you put a player- sentry and mech- side by side and told each to kill the same enemy type- the player and sentry will kill it much much quicker- its like saying- just because it works in a certain situation that its "Good" even tho it falls short on every other aspect yk? i like BOTH the mechs and its satisfying to play- BUT just because its "Passable/good" doesnt mean its done well- (FYI ive used both mechs on helldives on BOTH fronts multiple times since the emancipator so im not just "complaining" i can use them fine- and clear helldives with them- its just a matter of- why should they be this weak? when theres already more powerfull stuff out there? how does nerfing 4x the guns with 1/4x the damage make any sense?)
So like. I don't really understand. Are the devs just allergic to fun? Why do they keep doing this with STRATAGEMS? The things we're supposed to be able to call down to handle stuff??? The cool down would be fine if we had infinite and could equip both mechs, the damage against bios makes no sense, and the lack of a stratagem tube from the first game is honestly stupid.
The issue with equipping both exosuits is a bug, I've been able to get around it by selecting one then a different stratagem then the other. Sometimes I have to select one, exit stratagem select, then go back in and select the other
There's simply no reason to take the new mech over the AC sentry. The sentry does way more damage to heavies and it lets you keep fighting on foot while it does it's thing while also having a short cooldown and unlimited uses. Hopefully this new patch brings some fun back to the game, but I'm not holding my breath
For anyone who says the Emancipator can't clear smaller enemies at close range... clearly you haven't tried stepping on them. That's all it takes. Literally just walk forward. Problem solved.
Anyone else notice how chargers are literally broken at the moment? I have so many clips of them just sliding to you at super speed which then rams you into something then proceed to crush you. Or there is no sound of them charging only for you to be rammed and then killed by the same sliding crush bug. This is seriously a huge problem in my book.
Is anyone else not able to play the game? It’ll do its startup thing then cancel itself out. I uninstalled it on steam and reinstalled but didn’t work.
Need to say this in the response to the sigh before announcing that the superstore is a repeat, bro thats beautiful of a game to offer, it removes the predatory FOMO sales tactics that other devs use all the time, this is actually something to be praised. Even if its not as exciting as new things all the time
There were other journalists and myself that were speculating about this balancing with the mechs and it turns out Arrowhead went the sledgehammer route. SURE, it'd be fun to have more mechs in your load out, but again, what's stopping a team of 4 from all bringing all mechs and having missions being "less difficult" and that becoming the new meta? It went from railgun, to flamethrower, to eruptor, to mechs? You'll get kicked for not having the mech meta because you want to actually play the game...... I know I am mentioning the worse case scenarios, which aren't the least unlikely to happen, but they're something that I'm definitely not a fan of having to deal with. If the meta became "Just take all the mechs," then there'd be absolutely 0 purpose in balancing any weapon currently in the game if you get what I'm aiming at. You're never going to use the Diligence, Breaker, or Sickle again if you're just calling in 1 mech after another, so why does it matter if they're not performing as they "ought" to? At that point, I feel like the game would lose its identity from being Helldivers 2, to being a Helldivers 2 themed Mechwarrior game. But I completely agree with the sentiment that the Patriot and the Emancipator both suck rock salt. I think a source Arrowhead needs to look at for inspiration on how to do balanced mech suit deployment correctly is EDF. Yes you can call down a mech with the suite of weapons, a cannon bearing variant, a flame variant, an artillery variant, a heavy armor variant, and a couple others. No, they're not indestructable. No, they're not unstoppable. But at the same time, they can dish out hurt and they can take hits and keep going without completely exploding from hitting a divot in the ground. Surprisingly, the more comical version of the Helldivers 2 format game does mechs and vehicles better. Does Helldivers 2 need to become "EDF: HellDivers 2 Edition"? NO! There's just some things the game is struggling with that EDF is already doing fairly well. I'm not sure why the wheel is being reinvented in the middle of a wheel factory.
Ammo backpack for mechs would be an awesome addition. Gives someone a support role like in the matrix. Can use ammo found on the ground to restock half of two ammo packs for the mech. Takes 5 seconds to reload, so players with mechs have to pull back to their teammates. I’d say if you carried the pack with mech it takes the same time so you still have to pull back and still have to find ammo to restock. What do y’all think?
I used that mech with the same precautions as the old one, and got it to perform just fine against everything but a strider (I just hopped out for a second and threw stratagems at it.)
This new mech shouldn't be controversial. Its underwhelming. Its mediocre at what it does and its limited in its uses. Its pros it has good sustained firepower for dealing with medium enemies... not small or heavy enemies, medium. Small enemies are hard to hit with the fixed gun angles and it doesn't have the damage to make heavier enemies care.
Honestly I dont need nor did I expect it to melt bile titans and factory striders. But I would have expected it to perform vs chargers and hulks beyond the handheld version. It's also important to know what a tool is meant for. Like you said, it simply isnt meant for bugs which is fine
For Players in 175 non PSN countries Sony scammed with hd2 demand JUSTICE, change your Game reviews to negative and tell Sony buy more servers and let them back in. Also Don't anything Sony if you did buy Sony get a refund. Support The scammed Countries players by showing displeasure with your wallet. Only buy Hd2 make regret the day they tried to PSN that game and now keep it region locked.
the new mech is like it's made of cardboard with rubber band cannons 😂 and I've got a really bad feeling that when they bring out this new patch that's supposed to fix all the weapons but I bet it's just gonna make things worse because AH has something about damage balancing and they just can't make weapons fun to use
I don't understand people. They wanted it to be more viable against what, exactly? Have you tried clearing nests with it? It takes less than 20 seconds in relative safety, that's pretty big.
They need to balance autocannons overall. There is no reason an AC sentry is able to tear through titans, hulks and striders, but my AC backpack acts like a spitball
there is a very good reason for this called "caliber". in case you havent noticed but the turret fires a significantly larger shell than your shoulder mounted autocannon.
So, what I gathered from this update is that I shouldn't jump back into HD2 until shit gets sorted. *sigh* Another round of skipping out on doing any Helldiving. Guess I'll see what goes on in the next update.
What i would do is the left autocannons be ap with no aoe and the right be HE so you could deal with both threats. Also, i would give the exosuits more armor on par with a hulk but leave our rear and arms vulnerable
@ltbuzzlitebeer you can take both mechs, select one, then a different strategem for your second slot and the other mech for either your 3rd or 4th slot
Been on vacation and itching to play again. I'm thinking this would be great for doing the Thin Out missions. It seems like it would chew through all the little stuff.
one of a few i heard giving a more humble and fair opinion about the new Mech. It feels like players ruin there own enjoment wihle criticizing a bit to much in some cases. There is enough valid but some preventig themself from having a good time or didnt gave the new Mech a fair chance. Cant propperly kill titans? = trash tier. Me personally really started to like it against Bugs while hot dropping in Shriekers my team struggeld to get the upperhand while getting assaulted from above, nobody could reach these nests to crowded and far away for propper Strategem use, but my Mech didnt gave a f thined out the horde and blasted away the Shrieker nests nobody could reach. Could there be alternatives? Yes, are other weapons and strategems more convinient at the most time? yes i think so but in this situation it shined bright each weapon can be useful if you willing and enjoing it. there is are a ton of smaller and bigger issues in the game with weapons but dont sour your fun and couriosity on what your equipment can do for you.
