Hey! We're Lou and Nick, just your average hiking guides and overland adventure tour leaders. Normally you can find us hiking up mountains or running small group tours in rather large overland trucks. However, when we're not running trips we like to have our own adventures, usually in the mountains. Join us as we explore the UK and abroad in our converted campervan.
I did a circular loop with my kids the other week and we came down the way that you went up. In hindsight I think it is a nicer walk to go up the way you did. We had a lovely day out either way. Your videos are giving loads of ideas for the next family adventure so thank you.
Nice vid folks..... I visited this part of Turkey in 2010,and climbed down into the valley.... There are several routes down, and i think I must have wandered off the marked path. At one point I should have retraced my steps as I ended up scrambling around a protruding boulder with my bum hanging out into space !! All good though! I wonder if those were the same ropes I used!! I loved the turquoise coast so much I returned with my lady in 2020. She fell in love with the place too. We stayed in a village about 20 miles inland from Fetiyhe, in the mountains, well away from the tourist hotspots. Absolutely idyllic.
Great clip Overland, thanks for sharing, we've hiked up the Skirrid many times but never in the beautiful snow, you really captured it well, we've subscribed :)
Being to this beautiful area but not there specifically. Wanted to see footage. Maybe next time don’t get Micheal J Fox to hold your camera! Also…club music for a nature video. be better!
@@Overlandwanderers Nice. I love hiking and being outdoors. Been reading your channel, you both obviously do. Been a while since your last vid. Hope to see another one soon.👍
Great Video, I would not be brave enough to climb down the mountain at Butterfly Valley. Doesn’t seem safe enough. But you both very brave for being able to get down and back up it.
Cracking video! I went and did Waun Fach and the dragons back aswell in Feb and filmed it only just got round to uploading mine though. You’ve gained a subscriber keep up the good work 😊!

It's a great summit for the views - the winter scene looks especially fantastic from the top. I imagine you got back down buzzing. Good going. Mark (Hereford)
Another grand spot on the borders. You did it justice I reckon in the drone flight. Bruce Chatwin 'On The Black Hill' springs to mind here. All the best. Mark
such a beautiful place we want to go here, we are currently travelling wales, thanks for sharing we have liked and subscribed to show our support, have a great day, Chelsea and Mike 🙂
Fantastic! It's a great space to walk. I haven't been in that area for some time but you've made me feel like returning. I imagine you got back down nice and mellow. All the best. Mark
Interesting video. Excellent. I'm from Newcastle and was considering going to Saklikent to ski but now have second thoughts. I have travelled extensively throughout Turkey over the years and have skied Palandoken 5 times, Sarikamis twice, Uludag once and Erciyes 3 times. The skiing in each resort is very limited but its so cheap compared to the Alps.. Erciyes in my opinion has the more varied skiing but the snow quality in Sarikamis/Kars is far superior. Actually very very few English people would know that you could ski in Turkey, and not many have! It's a shame because they are incredibly cheap and uncrowded but not easy to get to from the UK. Its quite a journey getting from Newcastle to Eastern Turkey to ski and also a complete culture shock to what you have experienced in the West of Turkey eg Antalya/Marmaris, etc etc
Hi Gary. I definitely think we caught Saklikent on a "bad" day but there are definitely better resorts in Turkey. As you said Erciyes is quite big but because of the wind, the snow isn't great. The resort near Bursa is good but without doubt the best snow is Eastern turkey. We had fabulous powder days at Palandoken and Sarikamis. If you're happy to travel have you thought about Georgia? We bought a country wide season pass last winter for less than £100! Gudauri isn't cheap but Tetnuldi near Mestia was great, as was Bakuriani in the southwest
