Thanks this was very inspiring I do have a young toad and I was looking for inspiration for building a cool bio active terrarium for him God bless you thank you😊
I'm from the blue ridge mountains .... waaaaay different from Arkansas Questions? What are some easy plants I can use? We just acquired two American dwarf frogs named brownie and cookie.... they're super tiny.... I have them in a ten gallon for now but would love to add some plants and get a bigger aquarium
Well, if you’d like some plants that have roots in the water and leaves above the water, I would recommend some Hastas. They are very robust and do great with their roots submerged. They can get fairly big though. As for fully submerged plants, I would recommend Hornwort or Alternanthera Reineckii to start.
You really "saved" tadpoles but didnt do the research to know that they arent vegetarians? Cant wait for part two "how my treefrog beat 999 of its siblings in the gladiator arena" 😊
What is the maintenance/cleaning like for this habitat? My son is 4 and I want to help him enjoy his nature boy ways. But for now, that means it’s gotta be me taking the lead on learning about upkeep. I also keep trying to get him to name his toad Frogo Baggins, and he just looks at me like I have two heads. We’ll get there one day…
Hehe Frogo Baggins is a good one! It doesn’t require too much. The main thing is just making sure the toad has access to clean water all the time. If you’re able to keep lights and water the terrarium regularly, you’ll be able to keep the plants alive. Then it’s just the matter of looking out for mold and removing the poo if it’s not dealt with by insects.
I have about 50 tadpoles right now just starting to get their back legs! I’ve raised tadpoles to toads every year from the time I was little but I’ve never kept one and I want too this year. 😁This home you made for Meatball looks so amazing!! What kind of plants do you have in there?
My frogs absolutely love tubifex worms. They're so big now that they can eat an entire cube! I've kept these frogs for over 20 years now, & i love them so much.
Janice is gorgeous, I'm sooo glad that you made it home and that she has such a great human to give her a wonderful environment! (Had no idea her species was so adorably tiny, awww.❤❤❤)
