This channel is a documentary of our races around the Mid Atlantic racing series. It's under the AHRMA umbrella. It stands for American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association. We race motocross, grasstracks and cross country. On occasion we race a few other races on a off weekend.
Thats actually the kids track which is fairly big. I thought it was a perfect match. Better than sending them to the big track and destroying their bikes.
❤ thats a good track! Finally this year you got a dry track unlike last year. My next stip on thevold Kawis is gona be AMA vintage days. Good riding. Looks like you're AOK.
Leaving the grass high is horrible for the spectators. You can't see the bikes, you can't see the riders, you can't see the battles. You can only see from the rider's mid chest and upward. Most times you can't even see the handlebars. Last year I left early from two events because there was nothing to see.
All valid points from a spectators point of view. I was out at this track watching my buddy and there was some of what your saying for sure. You kinda had to pick your spot. I don't see it as a problem on the tracks we've been too usually. As a rider it wasn't bad. It definitely helps if the track is on a hill and you watch from the bottom. Good points . Thx for the comment.
@@DaveLightsracingstories Yeah Dave, I have bad knees due to Lyme Disease and was on a walker for 2 years. I am currently a lot better and walking for the most part without any devises, but I can't walk far which limits where I can watch from. Ironically, I can't walk very well but I can still ride! BTW, I love your on-bike videos! Thank you!
Yeah, Ashcrafts was pasture. This was more planted hay style. I like how they just mowed the track. Brian couldn't do that with his unless he planted. Your right tho. Great track.
I love your videos, Dave! This was supposed to be my debut on my 88 YZ250, but the bike didn't want to get dirty and didn't run! I have about 130 pics and vids that I will put up later...I have to leave for work in a few! Work always gets in the way of life!
Thanks for posting your video. I loved watching the whole thing. Good narrative to it. I gotta do that to mine. Much more interesting than mine. New tires, old tires, that track was slick! See you soon! Keep the rubber side down, my man!!
Dave, What a touching opening to your video. Obviously I didn’t know the man that you are speaking of, but with your words I feel like I did. May he rest in peace. At 59 this August, my friends and acquaintances over the years suffer a few losses every year. It makes you reflect on what you have done and how little time we all have left to get the things done that we haven’t gotten to just yet. Ride on! Mark
I kinda agree, but I've raced there before. Kinda knew about that. I'm more concerned about some close trees in fence row if your brakes fail. Recipe for bad things. Not my track so I just try to prepare for it.
We made it down from NY to Irish Valley for the first time this year racing Next gen. Great fun. We love your videos!! Was keeping an eye out to meet you but never caught up. Maybe at the next National!!
Hey, where is this in PA? I'm just moving south of Scranton and I've been building up a 75 Dt400 for vintage enduro and mx. I've been doing research on AHRMA and I may attend my first event later this year!
It's ok, this year is the learning curve. Got to figure out if I wanna race the husky yet on Xc. Next time stop by, I wanna put a face to comment. Super great weekend regardless. I had fun !!!
Yeah I did look for you you weren’t around at the time, was hanging out with owners of both tracks and our club members working on our enduro race coming up,great weather Sunday howed you do?
@my85cats I got 4th out of 6. I felt good all race. Loved the XC. I really didn't have anything for the guys. I left the next line by when they got close. I didn't wanna mess anyone's race up. Especially with my start. Catch up with ya soon.
Thanks for putting these videos together, Dave. I will be racing next weekend at rocket. It'll be my first time racing in an AHRMA event and looks like it will be a lot of fun
Look us up, we will be there. It's a good time and alot of good people. We're going tomorrow to see if they changed the mx track at all and knock the rust off a lil bit.
@my85cats ohhhh that's the rocket and oaks series ? I won't have time with racing Ahrma , but I'm gonna do a few of the races that don't conflict. If ya are stop by and say HI.
I'm self taught when it comes to editing and for awhile I didn't have the best mic or pay attention to the thresholds. I've since then gotten better. But I'm still a work in progress. Sorry to blow your ears off.
@@DaveLightsracingstories yes I struggle myself with them and tasted worms many times over them.and have broken ribs on 2 occasions because when I see long deep ruts I tend panic a bit or slow down to much but I have learned to look ahead them get my weight back to keep the front wheel light a power thru ..I am 55 so I don't heal so good anymore. I just wish I would get smarter soon..lol
