There is not much risk as the glue is not easily penetrated (it takes time) and even if affected will solidify once the debonder is gone, moderation and careful application are the key.
Nein, mit Plastik-Kleber verklebte Teile (Verschweißung Effekt) gibt es kein Problem. Einige Ätzteile können sich vom Kunststoff lösen, dies hängt von der Stärke der Klebeverbindung ab.
Yes, but the result may be inferior to one done with an airbrush. If you paint a lot with a brush the result will be similar to what you achieve with paints. Happy modelling, Chris
Hello, thickening of the glue and slow bond formation. But don't worry current formula goes a long way. It will be years before this can occur and if you keep your glues in a fridge you can extend shelf life dramatically. Chris
@@Vmssupplies Thank you, I bought one bottle like 1 and a half years ago and I think it showing those signs. So I should put it in a fridge so I can extend it life time?
You can use Transpa glue or CA glue but it depends on parts you are trying to glue, their size, placement how much tension there is plus the paint coat needs to be sturdy enough not to separate from plastic. What type of parts are you trying to glue together?
Hi, this works on polystyrene, metal, resin so it's important that your models is made of one of these materials. Gunpla is probably made of polystyrene like 99% of models so it will work. :)
This looks like you added an oil based crayon to it beforehand,if this strips the varnish off as well, its seems to be a bit sketchy, convince me otherwise as your products are not cheap. Thanks
Hi there, and thanks a lot for commenting. The product does exactly what we show in the video, removes stubborn pigment residue, that is left after you have used weathering solvents (white spirit odourless turps etc). This is not a solvent so it doesn't affect varnishes. If we cheated in the videos we wouldn't last, company was founded 2016 and is going strong, you can expect good results from our products. Best regards, Chris
Chris, thank you for your quick reply ,the CA flexy glue and debonder are great when I have been an,I know what I am doing and a plonker moment,i will give your other products a go,the company seemingly is gaining great traction across many parts of craft building.
I've just used this product for the first time (ultra). Model is a Tamiya car body with a few layers of Vallejo water based, Tamiya acrylic and humbrol enamel. Compounded errors. Time to start again. Paint began to peel very quickly. I haven't soaked it but have gingerly applied product with a paint brush. Vallejo base coat and primer left which I will try again. My observation so far is that it is working but I wouldn't recommend this product for children. If you can, apply product outdoors with plenty of ventilation. Wear a respirator minimum P2 and gloves resistant to solvents. I began applying this indoors without a mask and the smell quickly took hold of me making me feel a little dizzy.
Thanks a lot for your extensive feedback, happy to hear the prduct worked. To all modelers out there: Please always read the label - we advise to use product outdoors or in a well ventilated area and list all precautions/health hazards on the bottle.
No-one who's ever driven or been in/on an AFV would drape a tarp as casually as most modellers do. I understand the technique but honestly... it's really naff and unrealistic. Ever seen a tarp or cam net after it's been anyway near a hot surface such as engine louvres or exhausts, or been dragged into the running gear? My unit rolled and strapped everything down - tight; like professionals would. Imagine driving through woodland or scrub and having anything not tied down ripped off. In my honest opinion it makes it look like, well, a model.
Hello, As long as your tool is proper clean 0.3 nozzle will spray OK and you can slightly dilute with our acrylic thinner (green label) as well. Lacquer thinner is incompatible since this is a water based product.
Hello, The VMS Transpa FIX glue which is featured in this video. Standard glues will always cloud clear plastic, Transpa will not and is reversible - you can remove any excess glue with ease for a clean job. Chris
I have had this happen to me twice now, and i was hopeing you could tell me why. Using a thin ca, (not your brand) to glue 1/2 x 2 inch pieces of pe into a rectangle of fairly thick styrene caused the styrene frame to just break apart into three pieces. I didnt clamp it, or drop it, it just broke apart. Any thoughts?
24h is fully cured, you can work faster, applied glue will hold fine from the start and dry up in the mean time. This formula is way better than clear fix as you can redissolve the glue and correct imperfections if necessary.
@@Vmssupplies oh my god thank you so much for making this! ive been looking for so long for a good varnish thats waterbased. also once the gloss dries, will it react with any thinners?
I deeply appreciate the mud and dust effects on my AFV kits and dioramas, although I sometimes go overboard. In the past, I’ve experimented with acrylic, enamel, and oil-based products to replicate these effects, but I’ve never been delighted with the results. The Alkyd binder method seems promising, and I’m eager to explore it further.
Hi, Alkyds look even better in reality. I advise you take some spare tank road wheels, paint them and experiment on them, this is a lot of fun and a great way to get the hang of things before you move on to an actual model. Thanks a lot for your feedback, Chris
This seems to be just what I've been looking for. I ruined a Revell VW Camper van by having glue stained windows before I knew about this product. I will give this a try.
One problem I've had with all super glues in the past is that it eventually dries and can no longer be used (even cleaning the nozzle doesn't help since the bottle completely dries out). Do you have an estimated shelf-life (after opening) for this? edt: oh just found the FAQ, 12-24 months
Great video. One tip - set the drill bit depth in the pin vise so that you can use the pin vise as a drill stop, Adjust the protruding bit so that when the pin vise bottoms out on the track, the depth is just shy of breaking through. Saves scrapping links, and keeps from stabbing your fingers.
Excellent tutorial, although the finał result is too strong/dirty in my opinnion. I would aim in much lighter effect. Your aproach to present how to use your products is very welcomed. Keep up good work
This is a thinner for water-based acrylic paints. Model Masters I know are solvent-based, enamels so no. You can try our enamel thinner: www.vms-supplies.com/enml-thinners-product-overview
