​​@@ttargaryenn the books Daenerys clearly sees the destroyed Red Keep and lots of ash. All that ash cannot come from the Red Keep alone. So either Cersei will use the Wild Fire on King's Landing, or Daenerys will destroy King's Landing with dragon fire. You can say what you want, but in the books Daenerys is much "darker" than she is in the show. Surely she would never have gone that far just because of the deaths of Rhaegal and Missandei, she has suffered much more in the past and never snapped like that. But Lightbringer belongs to Stannis and is an important piece of the prophecy. Melisandre says she saw Stannis wield it against the dead, so either it is Stannis (who is still alive in the books) or it is Jon, who gets it from Stannis. Also because Daenerys has a vision of Rhaegar, who names his son "Aegon" (whether it is actually Jon or Aegon son of Elia I am not sure) and says that he is the prince who was promised. This vision must mean something.

@@erys8957 lightbringer is drogon though, the azor ahai prophecy was full-filled in book 1. While I don’t think Dany will sit the iron throne, the mad queen ark doesn’t suit her, in fact it suits Jon more. Idk what book you’ve read, but Dany frequently makes decisions to help others even if it doesn’t get her anywhere. She’s a young woman trying to rule in a patriarchy. In the books she is unintentionally fixing the mistakes of her ancestors, which I think is what George intended. I think she will die during the long night, sacrificing herself and her dragons to win the fight during the dark.

@@ttargaryen Daenerys has always been a little dark. You can't expect her to be the same in Essos and Westeros. In the books for the most part she thinks about revenge against those who betrayed her father and winning the Iron Throne. She does not even believe that her father was a madman and when she is told that Ned defended her from Robert, she says she does not care and that the Starks are the usurper's dogs. Of course she has a good intent in Essos, but she already has the idea of vengeance, fire and blood, for the traitors in Westeros. So she will not have the same mentality. She can be rough when she wants to be. She lets a little girl be tortured just because her father is "suspected" of poisoning Unsullied. She has a good intent in Essos, but we all know what she wants to do in Westeros. Jon always wanted to not be a bastard and be a lord, but Jon had a family that loved and raised him (there is not a single sentence in the books that makes you understand otherwise, Catelyn ignored him and Sansa had a better relationship with him than with Arya), it was his choice to go to the Wall. It seems to me very difficult for him to decide to go crazy and burn down a city.
