Hi y’all, we are Tonya & David! We are an adventurous couple that loves to travel in our F150 truck and travel trailer. You can find us visiting the Texas State Parks on a regular basis and our goal is to visit all the National Parks in the US!
We created Outside by Side because wanted to we share our love of travel and Rving along with helpful travel tips for newbies. Thank you so much for stopping by! We really appreciate you! Please don't forget to like, subscribe and share our videos with your friends and family. God bless!
We love our 22MLE and agree with most of your comments. The big deal is the feng shui of the layout and the floor plan. The perfect couples' trailer with a campsite dinette, which is money!!!
@mickvictor Yes, we agree the Lord is the great Physician! Thank you so much for the prayers and may God bless you daily. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 😍
@mickvictor We agree this would be the perfect trailer for a solo full timer! Good luck and please let us know if you join the Grand Design community! 🤗
@@liferedesigned Great use of the Double Entendres! 😂 We are so happy to hear you guys love your 22MLE as well. We love ours so much! Thanks for watching & happy camping! 😀
@OutsidebySide we have a 2022 22 MLE. We put 17000 km on it last year and no issues other than some road rash even with "Rockguard" extra mud flaps. We have the same wee complaints about the lighting, non- lighting AND a dumb spot for AC power under the dinette seat.
Nice to see you two again! Daves looking good. Guess he's doing better? Nice camper! I've researched that one and don't like the bath. I'm used to a full rear bath with plenty of room for changing. Can you cut out the shelf under the sink to put a trash can there? Yeah, I have my fridge plugged in now (Fri) for leaving on Sunday. Oh, I think in my last post I was trying an experiment with hooking up a portable power bank to run the electric for the fridge to stay cold while traveling. It works! (need a bigger power bank)
@@bertkelly7650 Hi Bert, so wonderful hearing from you! David is definitely healing. Thank you for thinking of him. The bathroom is small compared to others but it is the Taj Mahal compared to our last trailer. Lol. We will definitely consider cutting the shelf for the trash can. So glad to hear your power bank worked! 😀🫶
I see you are pulling the imagine trailer with a f150? If that is the truck how well does it pull ur RV? Any comments about the setup. Ive been wondering if my truck would pull it with no hassles.
@@sirbuck Yes, we are pulling with an F150 with the Max tow package & 3.5 ecoboost and it pulls beautifully! We are using the Recurve R3 WDH with sway control. We believe this camper is great for an F150. Thanks for watching our video and happy camping! 😀
@jacquelinejensen5360 We are so happy to hear our video has been helpful and CONGRATULATIONS on your first trailer! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! ☺
I love your new trailer (and your new hair cut!) this was my first time watching you so now I'm a subscriber and can't wait to see more. We have a 16' Hike 100 1316TB so like you small - but a bit bigger would be nice and this would be great other than we'd need a new vehicle (we tow with a 4Runner) thanks for sharing! So sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis but glad the treatment is going well!
@christinapittsley786 We are so happy to have you as part of our Outside by Side community and thank you so much for subscribing! 🙌 We do like the ease of towing the smaller trailer and glad to hear you guys feel the same! Your camper sounds amazing!! David is doing so much better and getting through the hump of cancer. Happy camping to you both and wishing you both the best! 😊
@marlenen96 We have never sanitized our water tank but we have heard of people using bleach to sanitize. Make sure to rinse thoroughly. We don't use our tank for drinking water. Thanks for watching! 😀
I think we are like you folks. We (me and Bill) are starting our 5th season with our Winnebago Mini Drop. It's not a couple's trailer, I think it's a one-person trailer. I wouldn't even add a dog. Small cat maybe. We've been looking at Grand Design and this was one of them. I like the size 22 feet. I don't want to jump to 25 feet. Keep it simple. No more than what we need. I don't need to square dance in the kitchen, but dancing cheek to cheek is nice. Bill wants the 25-footer that has a DOOR across the bedroom. I like the curtain. It helps to keep the weight of the RV down, less wood, and I want to make a pretty colorful curtain. I do not like slides. We're never had one, so we've avoided all the hassles (breakdowns) that I heard about. I need a pantry so I can stop digging through overhead cabinets that I can't reach. So I've enjoyed watching this video since you are not screamers like so many videos from sales people do. One more thing: Your map needs to show you've been up here on the right coast. Our map is a little less than yours although we have been as far as Yellowstone and Grand Teton in our Winnie from here in New Hampshire. What a trip that was!! . Maybe after retirement we'll go....... Just read some other reviews. Heard there is illness in the family. Prayers coming your way for full recovery. Keep the faith.
@roxannegordon6162 Yes, we have really loved the new Grand Design and glad to hear we are not screamers! LOL! We highly recommend this trailer. Thank you so much for the prayers! ☺
I'm just about 53 (7/20), just bought my first camper and going straight into full-time living in it. Scared but excited (going through a divorce). Never lived alone before either. Wish i could experience this with my furbabies (lost them last year). Praying i can do this...thankfully the owner and the maintenance man at the rv park are so understanding and helpful. They both said they're there to help me along in my journey! But I'm still watching everyone videos and learning so much!
@shelliemathews1043 Congratulations on your first travel trailer! It's never too late and please let us know if we can be of any help. Thank you for watching and happy camping! :)
Funny that I just came acroos this video. We just rented this exact TT for the long 4th July weekend. We are very long time tent campers and want to dip our toes into the RV world. By renting we were able to access our wants and needs without a long commitment 3 of us for 4 days 3 nights was tight but it was a great learning experience. Ultimately I think between 26 and 28 foot with a slide out will keep us in our wheel house of space, towability and price range. I will say this little Pioneer would have been a castle to me when i used to hunt. Something I will do again in the future. You pointed out many dislikes and should've, could'ves but every thing mentioned would've driven the cost up and that is not what this camper is.
@goodcleanfun1640 We are so happy to hear you were able to rent this camper and yes, renting can help you decide what you like. Our video is our opinion and just a review on our likes and dislikes. When we first purchased this camper, it was definitely a castle since we went from from tent camping to a travel trailer as well. Thanks for watching and happy camping to you! 😊
This seems like a really great floor plan for a couple. I’ve only viewed this camper online and RU-vid. If I have a 2023/2024 F150 5.0 V8, how would this tow or would I need more like a F250? Would a weight distribution hitch and sway control be mandatory with the F150 V8? Thanks
@leader674 We have had no problems towing this with our F150. We researched the safety of this model for years to make sure it was not at capacity weight wise. We always recommend a WDH for sway control and safety. We created a video on our WDH which might help you. Thanks for watching and please let us know if you have any additional questions! 😃
@docohm50 The download/upload speed depends on where we are at the time. Yes, it is unlimited data and to be honest with you, we have received consistent internet with ConnecTen in locations we previously did not get internet. We still highly recommend this company. Their customer service is amazing! Thanks for watching! 😀
I heard the same thing about attitude. It’s very important. I’ve been in remission for 7 yrs from stage IV uterine cancer. Prayers for your complete recovery and managing side effects. 🙏
@evitairish We are so happy to hear you have been in remission for 7 years and thank you so much for your prayers! All is great so far and we know there is a long road ahead but with the Lord, all things are possible! You will be in our prayers as well. Thank you for taking time to comment and watch out video! 🥰
do any other Brands have the 'auto-select' of fuel function? As i'm shopping for an inverter generator, duel or tri, with ideally over 8k running watts on LPG, i see WEH doesn't have one that size. Thanks in advance.
@ralphp3057 Hope you are able to try it out one day! We love the Casitas and would love to own one one day as maybe a 2nd trailer! They are the coolest! Hope you are enjoying yours. 😀
@@OutsidebySide We actually bought ours just before the mad Covid rush ! My wife decided at our age to get out of our tent ⛺️! We got almost washed away many times in our tent ! We have been camping for over 60 years. It was a gigantic adjustment for me with the Casita . That will be our only RV . Thanks for your Videos! 👍😁
I have the XP 1.0 folding and the XP Trike. Have the XP 3.0 foldable coming (giving the 1.0 to my daughter). One of the best e-bike values on the market, IMO.
@mmcpa Love hearing this! How are you liking the trike? It looks so cool to have and would like to get one as well. Thanks for watching and happy ebiking! 😀
@chrissellers5296 I agree but so happy I did it for a change. It’s like checking off a bucket list. 😂 I miss my bun but it’s only hair and will grow back. 😂 Thanks for watching and happy camping! 😀
Lol lol lol. Love the ones that got cut. Went to Lake Texhoma a lot as a kid (grandparents lived in Oklahoma). Enjoyed this video--thinking we might go again (this time OLD with a small Airstream. I HATE chiggars!!
@user-fd7op5bl2z That’s so wonderful to hear you were able to go to Lake Texoma as a kid. We absolutely loved this State Park. They do have great campsites so you will like it more as an older (but young) adult! 😂 Thanks for watching & happy camping! We love the bloopers more than the videos. 😂
