Movers are some of the hardest working people. They've got a limited amount of time to move everything and they don't want to damage anything either. The times my wife and I have used moving services, we've always had beverages and snacks available and we've tipped them as best we could. I'm glad to see these guys stand their ground.

About 5 years ago my friend hired movers from our city to move her 5 blocks. She had to pay up,front $400. Then they said they were going on a lunch break. The truck was still loaded with her stuff and because she wasn't sitting out side when they got back. They wouldn't unload the truck until she paid another $400. So she paid $800. To move 5 blocks. It was only 3hrs. THEY TOOK HER MONEY AND THEN TOOK THE POST DOWN SHE TRIED TO FIND THE COMPANY AND SHE WAS TOLD THERE IS NO COMPANY UNDER THAT NAME IN OUR CITY.

Why the movers don't get paid in advance they know where they are going and the distance rented cars get paid upfront you pay the airline before you fly not after you reach your destination you pay for gas before you pump so moving companies can do the same to stop this problem.

How hard is it to not enlist someone's services if you don't have the money to pay them...

The scam is they quote a certain price, then once they get there they double the price. If they don't get double the pay the keep everything from the household and sell it all. Only use reputable moving companies.
