Hey this is new!!! I have a massive Aida playlist that I started this year for Aida OBC footage - I actually worked on this show but i legally can’t post any of the professionally shot footage (the fact I uploaded the b-roll could get me sued so.. 🤐) but I was wondering/hoping you’d be okay if I added this to that playlist? ru-vid.com/group/PLP8EmhBa4-eCf2iHSiOvWuz7PzdQMaoO8&si=GfUqrB6mAZfiZFaW
I did briefly, after I saw him play this on Broadway in '91, the year this was taped. He seemed a kind, generous man and very down-to-earth. I consider myself blessed.
One of the most difficult piano vocal scores to play (never mind sight read). A nearly non-stop river of syncopated triplets played at tempo and abrupt key changes. Adam is a serious genius of a composer. And this scene always ends up with me in tears.
Love this version! I have a cleaner/brighter copy offline but this is the only one on RU-vid. Special kudos to the backing vocalist in the middle of the trio mixing/belting her face off and having a good time doing it!
