I have pen collection problems. Thank you for sharing your collection. I need some jelly roll pens. I agree, looking at the things that brings you joy is a nice distraction.
I like going through my stashes as well. I don’t have lots of pens. I found the Mr Pen pens work well in my journals and Bible and I can highlight over them so I quit buying pens. I love post it notes and stickers though. I hope you feel better!
WTF even is that neigbour???? sorry you had to go through that, also can relate to the store is too loud and busy thing lol do you get overstimulated alot?
I've always wondered what the best way to digitally archive journals would be in case i lose them in a move, or if there was an emergency. I may consider photographing pages that I want to keep forever and upload them to a google drive, or upload to a hard drive. I'm so glad you didn't lose your journals!
Yay that’s so good that you found them!!! That’s such a close call 😱 Thankfully I’ve never lost one of my journals and hopefully I never do, but I only have 13 and a half filled ones, nowhere near the amount you have lol. I keep my filled ones locked in a fireproof waterproof safe! I did have a small sketchbook from when I was a kid that I lost, or got rid of. I don’t remember. And I recently found an old notebook from when I was 10 in an old storage locker, but I had only filled a couple of pages. And I don’t know if I have all the pages from a journaling attempt I did when I was 12. I also used to draw and write about inventions I’d come up with but I think stupid child me got rid of those :( I wish I still had those lol. I saw a post on Reddit about someone being the victim of a crime and her journal was taken as evidence and they refused to give it back even after it all ended. I can’t imagine!!!!
Ugh I totally found myself having anxiety over this. I have seriously thought about burning my journals when they’re done or just keep them. I just can’t decide. Some years have more processing in them, others are more memories, and others and prayers and Bible journaling. I just have so much anxiety about my kids reading them one day and not realizing I was just processing in them and the feelings aren’t the same now, of course. I need a good idea too so I hope you get some on your video. 😂😂
I could definitely feel your anxiety with this! My heart rate actually sped up while you were talking about it. I actually did have a journal I was writing in disappear years ago; I went crazy looking for it but eventually gave up. I was angry and upset because I never take my journals outside of my bedroom, since that's where I write, but I started a new journal and went on with life - and then the old one mysteriously reappeared one day. I'm convinced that my younger sister stole it, although I don't know why she would have. But I never confronted her, so I'll never know what actually happened. I'm just glad I found it again.
I’ve had the same issue before! Sometimes I just don’t click with a journal and I end up moving to something else. I don’t like to force myself to write in a journal that doesn’t feel right. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊
I have the opposite problem. I have trouble choosing just one journal. I usually want to use several journals at the same time but I've tried that and it doesn't work for me.
They only had the orange cover sticker book at my Michael’s. Of course, I bought it lol, but I’ll have to go back in a week or two and see if I can find the others.
Nice haul! The story behind that B & N journal was interesting. The Marshalls stuff intrigues me; I haven't seen any of those things (yet) at my local store. That candle is too cute, and I love that shade of nail polish. Those pens arnd that notebook are neat - I'll have to look for them at my store.
OtterBlotter makes some good plain journals in a few colors for a reasonable price. I bought a green one and a purple one in A5 size not too long ago. I pretty much stick to Pilot G2 pens or BIC ballpoints in bold purple ink.
Congrats on your degree! I'll be finishing my bachelors in communications in December and I bought some graduation stickers for my journal already haha! I love those cow pens, they're very cute!
Wow that’s a stark difference from your 100+ that you used to have! Do you have any tips for getting rid of journals? I have a few that I feel like I’d never use at this point but they also have some decorations in them that I did, and one has stuff I put all over the cover. So I feel like I can’t sell them or donate them. How do you get rid of yours? Selling, recycling, donating, trashing? That’s so incredible that you got rid of so many journals! I have such a hard time getting rid of stuff which is terrible for having space!
Yeah, getting rid of stuff can be hard. I got rid of some sentimental childhood stuff that I never thought I'd get rid of around that time so that made it easy to get rid of blank journals. I downsized my house about 85% last year so I got rid of a lot in a hurry, but had slowly been cleaning stuff out for a few years. I took a bunch of journals and pens to my old office once when I was still working there and people there were so excited, so that was a quick fun way to get rid of some. I didn't want to have to drive to a thrift store donation center wasting more money (gas money and time) to donate, so I either give to people I know, throw away, or sell online. I don't think selling journals individually one by one online would be worth it unless it was a premium leather journal, some popular brand, or vintage since most journals are so cheap now and since shipping costs deter buyers so much. I would sell collectible/in-demand and premium leather journals individually, then do "lots" of maybe 4-6 journals in each lot. Even lots of several typical price journals don't go for much online... I saw a lot of 7 for about $24 online right now on ebay that someone listed that still hasn't sold. I've noticed that <$18-20 for a lot of 4-6+ tends to be the most likely sale so I don't think most people would really make their money back selling journals they bought. Selling lots can be a lot of waiting, lowball offers from buyers, high shipping costs (def make sure to weigh the notebooks before mailing so you don't get charged extra postage on top of the postage that you had he buyer pay), and time making lists so I personally probably wouldn't sell unless I had a lot of stuff to sell at once.
@@TheJournalCEOwow thanks for your reply!!! I used to be “good” at downsizing my belongings but I now have regrets about a lot of the things I’ve given away, so that’s deterred me. My go to method is dropping stuff off at a thrift store because I can feel good about it and also get a tax write off, but it’s easy to let your “to donate” stuff sit in your closet or car for like 8 months 😂 I don’t have the energy to sell stuff online. It seems so exhausting to list everything and get offers and deal with the post office, etc. I’ve donated things worth over $200 before 😂 that’s probably bad though lol That’s so cool you got rid of a lot at work! I think it would be practical of me to get rid of journals I don’t think I’ll use, but my empties aren’t truly blank because I numbered the pages and some of them even have a couple of stickers in them. Are those destined for the trash or do you think I could still find people interested in them, even if for free? Man idk why it’s so hard for me to get rid of stuff nowadays, especially empty journals! Sorry for this long ramble lol
If you want to get rid of stuff without the guilt of trashing it, one way I like to do it is drop it off at a goodwill or other thrift store. It’s easy, fast, and you can get a tax write off for your donation! Facebook marketplace is also good. People will buy anything on there lol If all else fails you can recycle it, or do sticker bombs on journal pages! Just some ideas to make getting rid of stuff feel less bad, if you’re anything like me where that causes a lot of negative feelings 😂
You're 💯 on how as we get older, "life things" do tend to pile up. I can definitely relate. I find myself wishing more often that I could go back to being young enough not to have to worry about all these adult responsibilities. But that's how journaling helps me - doing a nightly brain dump of my day helps me NOT to lose what little sanity I have left! 😂
I remember the exact moment I realized that by me getting older, everyone else is getting older too. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc…. I started thinking what if (normal aging pain) is something major and I’m 1/2 dead already!? Ugh I feel ya girl and you’re not alone! Prayers for your dad! P.S. it also means our cars are getting older too…😂😂 P.S.S those fries look BOMB!!!!!!
So...many...pens! I used to have a ton of pens, but in recent years, I've somehow restrained myself from buying more. All I have now is a set of blue Bic Cristal Xtra Smooth pens, a set of red Bic Round Stic pens, and a handful of specialty pens I've taken from my bank and specialists (doctor) offices.
Your decorations are lovely! I love those journals, too! My Marshall's doesn't carry a whole lot of journals, and definitely not the ones you got. I did see those candy cane pens, though!
i have been using all of my pens that i usein my journal to start to end and i like doing that i want to use up more stickers, washi , and things i have to use in my journal. cool to see the things that you have gotten
I always like watching your videos to relax ☺️ that owl journal is really tempting lol I see there’s a raccoon one as well… I just got rid of a bunch of blank journals earlier this year. Happy holidays 🧚♀️🎄
