The stroker is a good machine, especially in smaller wood that you’re only taking down to a certain top size; you can grab multiple stems for faster production. Definitely more complicated to move from job to job and has more moving parts.

@TexasRailfan2008
@TexasRailfan2008 3 года назад
Ok never mind I’m just stupid, a reflector doesn’t literally reflect the signal, it just reflects it coming out of the waveguide at a 90 degree angle

good afternoon my friend, congratulations on the video I also have a Heathkit LG-1 RF Signal Generator more I know how to make it generate the exemplary signal in 600khz, but I do not know how to calibar coils of old radios, I put a capacitor of 47-100 pf, on the f.i of the radio, and a multimeter ac on the loudspeaker. my generator did not come with pluge cable, soldered a wire on the + connector If you can help me, I'd appreciate it.

What's this on the boom have we all of a sudden decided that 300' is a safe distance now, or is it because everyone wants to go 'metric' now. I have seen 'dodgy' trees do a 'domino effect' and you definitely want to be back 500' especially if the tops snap off and head in a different direction.

No not really. They can be useful for tuning and troubleshooting older receivers but there is much better equipment available on the surplus market now.

Hey Chipensaw, I picked up a trailer load of electronics and this Heathkit LG-1 unit was in it. I am a guitar player and have been wanting to be able to tech my own old tube amps for a long time and learn to trouble shoot other types of electronics. Is this unit useful to me or not? Here is some of the stuff I have.

@claytonmareno
@claytonmareno 8 лет назад
i think we should just get rid of these machines go to chainsaws instead. main reason is because it would create jobs for alot of people instead of a one man opperation that can clear about 1 acres of trees a day. sure this is a faster way to do it but creating jobs is more important

It's also way more dangerous to have guys out there. That's the main reason why almost everyone uses these now because when these machines get hit with a tree the operator just goes home but if a tree fell on the guy he wouldn't be going home at all most likely. Safety First...

Though to be technical it's an MF beacon. HF is 3 to 30 MHz.
@regsparkes6507
@regsparkes6507 8 лет назад
So isn't this double work now ? Wouldn't a feller de-limber be more efficient ? And you astill have to have a transport to navigate those taller stumps. Now these questions come from a guy who love's machinery, but hasn't a clue about this kind of logging.
@jenrick4804
@jenrick4804 6 лет назад
Not a logger, but done some reading. It'd gonna depend on how many people you've got on the crew and how much lumber you're cutting. A harvester that's fells and delimbs is way more expensive to start, so issue one. Secondly if you have the crew and resources, having another machine or machines running at the same time processing the lumber, means the guy cutting is only cutting. Having separate operators doing separate task will in the end produce more processed lumber in a given amount of time, then having one operator doing multiple tasks. Yes you have to handle the tree more times, and certainly overall cost of the operations is higher (1 really expensive machine vs 3+ kinda pricey machines), but the production can be a lot higher as a harvester will never cut as much wood as a dedicated felling machine will.

@chipensaw 8 лет назад
Side entry and rear entry. All new machine will be rear entry only starting with the new models 3156G replacing the 2954D and 3756G replacing the 3754D. Rear entry cabs are safer for entering and exiting. Road builders and short boom processors will remain side entry as they have no cab risers.
