Hi, I have a question about the recipe, but first of all, thank you for sharing it. I've got a lot of compliments for this great looking cake. Can you tell me, why it's necessary to boil the strawberries first? It would save time when using them fresh.
A.-M. Steyer --- I think the strawberries are cooked first so they are more flexible and bend well when rolled and also perhaps it prevents them from discolouring. A guess.
Hi there. Fun fact, strawberries contain loads of bacterias which you can see only with a microscopic camera in your phone. Using them fresh would also be lovely, it'll add extra protein to your cake. Thank you! :D
