I made a Hunter Star quilt using Deb Tucker's ruler and I can understand this is a very difficult pattern but well worth the process .Your fabric is beautiful and I enjoyed your teaching method .
❤this method for hunters star. I made a hunters star quilt by paper piecing the whole thing. It’s beautiful but a lengthy process. I want to make another one but using this method. Thank you for this excellent video.
Yesterday I bought the Short Cut Sheet PDF Binder. Last night I did your seam test to set up my machine. I love geometric patchwork but haven't done a lot since I didn't have triangle rulers and doing HST's more than 2 at a time took too long. Once I finish my current quilt I plan to tackle all the star patterns that I haven't done yet. You are wonderful. Thank you for sharing these tools.
Hi in the short cut sheet for QSTs, can you explain the Step 1 Calculations? Is this the step to calculate how many units you’re need for any quilt or just for a quilt with QSTs in the block? Thanks
This approach is way beyond my abilities and experience, even though I have been quilting for a couple of decades. Nonetheless, I have made this quilt top in browns and am calling it “Making Hay “
This may be fast but please be aware, every single side of these are on the bias. Beginning quilters beware! Seasoned quilters know how to handle bias but it can be very frustrating for a beginner quilter when those blocks go wonky. Try starching your fabrics first.
Thank you so much Carla--I can't wait to get started on this project! ordering the pattern today--the tough part will be choosing the fabric--it's all so beautiful!
thanks! There are more videos (www.kitsbycarla.com/videos.html) and more methods (www.kitsbycarla.com/store/c16/ShortcutSheets). Website is kitsbycarla.com
I cringed and held my breath every single time that rotary blade did NOT get retracted. You are so fortunate that you didn't slice your hands when sweeping crumbs off the cutting table
