Hi, I am Kan from China. I live and work in California. I teach Mandarin. Revolutionize your Mandarin with the Comprehensible Input (CI) approach. Input, Input, and Input...this natural immersion approach is effective and is inspired by DreamingSpanish. Hence, my CommonsenseChinese channel. 大家好。我是侃,来自中国。如今在美国加洲过日子。教中文。自以为CI式听,听,听......自然浸入方法,最有效。受DreamingSpanish启发,于是就有了CommonsenseChinese。
People always tend to visit big citiies. but even here in Europe I don't understand when people say they go and visit Paris/Berlin/Amsterdam. I don't like glass and concrete. If I ever visit China, I plan to visit small towns like this, speak to local people and try to learn about their way of life. In my opinion these people have much more knowledge about real life. 你的本地话听起来很有趣!
I can’t believe I’m only just coming across your channel, I wish I had found it sooner! Thank you so much for making CI videos, your channel is such a wealth of a resource for learning 💖 I look forward to your future content! 😊
I enjoyed that. I understood quite a bit. I use Dreaming Spanish. I wish you all the best in expanding on your content like Pablo has. I look forward to it! How about 'Your Chinese Input' as a name.
I want to complement you on this channel! I just discovered Dreaming Spanish and am thrilled that you're trying to do this "comprehensible input" approach with Chinese. I'd studied both languages(badly) and thought I'd never get to fluency with either. I'm now focusing on Spanish since there's such a lot of input available. Once I get to a breakpoint, I want to do the same with Chinese. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to study both languages at the same time. I did find that trying to learn Chinese characters at the same time I was trying to learn the language was impeding my ability to learn anything new, but a stress free listening experience using comprehensible input might help. Learning a language under stress does, IMHO, reduce the ability to retain it. That's been my experience with university language courses. I've subscribed and wish you the best of luck with your new channel!
Thanks for your excellent comment. I know exactly the "experience with university language courses." I do not like it because it is not working for me and "stressful." I also agree with you that It is harder to learn two languages at the same time. I am using CI approach to acquire both French and Spanish now and I do feel a bit of counter-productive, especially when I was in Paris and my ability of speaking Spanish seems to be "retarded", :-P. Your point about "a stress free" learning approach is crucial.
I really appreciate that you don't put subtitles in your videos. Every other alleged Chinese "comprehensible input" channel I've found has subtitles with no option of turning them off. I think it's very important to only listen and use context clues to truly acquire a language.
Another great video! This format makes some of the best videos for CI/ALG. I’d also love to see you do videos telling fun stories and drawing out everything on the whiteboard. You’re very creative and fun, so any story you tell would be awesome 🧡
