These videos were taken by my father, Wallace Bembry, on 8mm film back in the late 50s to early 70s. I recently had them to a digital format so that we could upload them and send them to others.
I was there in 1959, but too young to remember it. I had planned to visit when i retired from the navy in 1994, but found out it was closed. Sad.🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
The camera that was used to film it didn't have volume. This was back in 65. I have been there 3 times over the years. I doubt it will ever be restored. Would take way to much money.
I was born in Thomasville 1982 but we lived in Quitman. I lived their until I graduated high-school in 2000. Family still there. I like getting on here every few months to see anything linked to it. Nice video.
Whoever is filming right at the end where the two young ladies are catching some rays must have been stirring the girl in blue up a bit, it looks like he says something like, “plumbers cracks in fashion this summer are they?” But Ofcourse that was a total stir up cause there was nothing that could be embarrassing happening, 😂😂😂
It’s greasy that you have this footage of your dad and family, it was a pretty big deal to have a 8mm camera back in 1967 in America, and that was more-so for us over here in Australia, it’s great quality too, nice share this, all the best 👍🏻
