Watch AKA's "20 Pearls" documentary for the truth. Delta should stop trying to be in competition and trying to prove they are better than ALPHA. This creates a hateful culture. So what Delta was formed out of AKA, I'm glad there is more than one sorority for women to choose from. So let not perpetuate hatred toward one another or put each other down.
I know I’m 10 years late and I’m 16.. I’ve been researching about sororities and colleges I wanted to go to. I just got done watching “ The twenty pearls” movie on RU-vid and it was really inspiring and emotional.. My nana was supposed to go to Howard university but she got pregnant with my uncle and she’s helped me out with everything I need to know. My coach is also an aka so I’m learning a lot from her as well.. if anyone wants to educate me on anything I’ll gladly take it !. And also there’s is no “beef” whatsoever with ANY sorority!! It’s a sisterhood and they all have different impacts on different things
I pledged Delta Sigma Theta long ago. My best advice is do your research beyond what you see on college campuses. Yes, I'm biased. But go to all the websites and official public online domains and see what the sororities do AFTER college. Undergrad is to train you for alumni membership. Don't pledge either just because your friends or family are leaning toward one organization or the other. Yes, we all do much of the same things, but only one may fit your personality and life goals. And please don't post which sorority you're interested in publicly. Keep it to yourself so folks stay out of your business.

very nice film. I learned so much. I like what the narrator said about the Deltas "they wanted to serve more than socialize". That's what the AKAs always appeared to be to me. A social club for pretty melanated feminine(only) women, nothing more. My only confusion is why black fraternities and sororities use greek letters rather than hieroglyphs. The part about the black deans stood out to me. Its like corporations using a black face(s) to sell products while the owner/board of directors are all white.... But I really like the history of DST and what they represent.
Black fraternities and sororities use Greek letters because they are college organizations. Much of the collegiate experience and related organizations are built around Greek or Latin words. Why cause Europe convinced the world Greece was the center of civilization but the Greeks went to the world's first universities in Africa. But that's a whole other topic. Notice your honor societies have Greek letters, your Cumma, Summa, whatever is from Latin aka Greek languaging. The Divine 9 ain't trying to be white. It's just following collegiate tradition. PERIOD!

My great grandmother, Adelaide Parris Brown was at this parade. Though she was not a member of Delta Sigma Theta, she was a member of the Alpha Suffrage Club, which was founded by Ida B. Wells in Chicago. So I am a part of this legacy. While I am not a member of Delta Sigma Theta, my mother's sister (Aunt Meg) was a faithful member for over 60 years. I respect the organization and its history, but most importantly, I respect the organizations role in the overall African American women's club movement, which many organizations belong to.

After a lot of praying, God is showing me Greek life is demonic and that our country (America) has it's protection removed in a way we've never seen before (in the history of America). He's calling everyone to repent and do it God's way- confess and denounce Greek life and all sin (the wages of all sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life). The only way to heaven is Jesus- by accepting Jesus into your heart, believe He died and rose from the dead, and repenting (confessing all sin to Him) . We can't save ourselves.
