Hello there! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! Excellent video! I have a question about the cutters that people put on the cross slide. I am new with watchmaker lathe and I don’t know where I can buy a good quality set of cutters to use with my cross slide. Thank you for your help and keep up the great work!
Hello, I buy High speed steel at a supply house on line, .187 x .187 x 2.5 INCHES long square blanks and can grind the faces with a common bench grinder and finish with the sharpening stone, a common Machine Tool Practice book will show the Safety procedures angles and How-to , The holder for the tool in this video I Made and used until I found a vintage original tool holder I use now, also see my other Video where I replaced this Electric Motor with a Variable speed one. Best wishes and thank-you for watching : )
hello sir. . i have the same lathe. . im looking to add a self centering chuck. .did yours come with? or another brand. .do you mind commenting on this. .3 jaw vs 4 jaw. thank you
I bought the Lathe with no accessories and went down the expensive road of buying" New old stock chucks for it over time, I recently bought a complete set of Sherline Deluxe WW collet Set 1162 fractional sizes and really like them.
Thank-you for watching , I will be posting as soon as I can More , Just Life in progress , Best wishes to you and have a great holiday season ahead : )
Nice setup! I'm currently in the process of searching for a watchmakers lathe. It is as you say. The basic lathes are not too hard to come by, but finding all of the attachments is starting to be very difficult.
People are buying them up , I hope they are using them and not just shelving them, I'm almost complete with this set-up and I can start my project, I hope you get what you need, it takes a little time but worth it , Best wishes to you Jeffery : )
Yes, I Got a Vintage Milling attachment for it and a collet to hold the cutters for that , also I'm going to have to get a pulley drive set up working to drive it to cut the gears , Thank-you for your interest and watching , Best wishes to you and I'll get to more as time allows. : )
Would you consider making a dividing attachment for my lathe (for a fee of course)? I presently don't have access to a larger lathe to produce my own dividing plates, meaning wheel and pinion cutting isn't possible, and I'm relying on an old, poorly-equipped chronos engine whenever I need to produce new wheels
No , Not Correct , The Quality of the Workmanship of the Blocks is so Good you show the Trick and Hand it to the Audience member and they show it's a Solid Block when they fail the Trick, because it's squished back to a Solid Block as the Magician hands the Box with Blocks inside/tooth-pic to the Audience Member ., Thanks for watching and Best wishes to you : )
Thank-you , I Hope you Get a Chance to Play "Relapse" , This 2-Player board game brings out individual patterns of selective reasoning that each of us have that makes this Game an Amazing and Fun Experience..... , Best wishes to you : )
This set up looks like it will work great! I see you are using a Cole-Parmer power station, but what are you using for a motor? What manufacture of motor and HP? RPM? Please let me know in these comments.
