Trying to update to 6.8.0 from 5.7.X. The .FW file (ICG60_6.8.0.fw) is in the "system" folder on my thumb drive, however it is not showing up in the Upload Firmware screen. I usually get an error message saying no firmware firmware packages found. sometimes I get Error message "Failed to get list of available firmware". I know you said this is a not an uncommon error to get towards the end of the video but I have tried dozens of times with no success. Am I missing something or could there be a hardware issue?
I would first try a different USB stick, if that does not work go to settings>system configuration>reset options>reset ext port config>Continue...Escape out and power off the receiver and power it back on with the usb stick inserted
I'm all in for new modern Technologies for improving our data collection process but it needs to be practical and user friendly enough so that we DO NOT sacrifice our basic foundation or principles of land surveying observations and conventional methods of measurement. Our confidence in the data is weighted by the person measuring and the type of measurement used like laser versus taped or optical versus calculated measurement. This speaks to the root of our intentions when we utilize a field book and a digital recording. It's a process that needs to be present in all field investigations , otherwise we will revert to cut corners to save time,money and training. Just my opinion. Now if you ask me personally what I think about using this app instead of point staking. I would say yes it's a great tool for certain jobs that will allow some flexibility to stake and collect existing conditions or design features . I would love the opportunity to test this in a number of different types of surveys to gage the crews and workflow. Cheers! Have a great Survey Day
Is there a way for this to capture accurate data under heavy tree canopy, essentially mapping trees or supplementing Topo in the woods knowing it isn’t fixed very well?
It does require a fixed position so it would not be ideal for that scenario. It will fix fast in heavy canopy once you stop but you have to be moving to collect images.
Hello, Sir May I ask you a question, I'm interested of using Layout Objects application (import IFC files) , but I'm little confused. Do I need to buy both CC80 tablet + ICON ICR80 total station to be able to use the application, or only ICON ICR80 total station will be enough? Thank you,

Hie i mistakenly deleted the icon that shows my rover... so now after base connection and setup im failing to connetc the rover because the icon is missing. Please assist on how i can recover it.
Hello, Thanks for the video. Can I just ask you one thing about resection. How you doing resection between those points? Let's say you want to position your total station where is sitting now using those prisms what you have around. In my case I have 4 fixed MPR122 prisms and when I am going to do resection my TS won't lock in Manual mode, I'm using same tablet fz-m1. Thanks for the answer. Cheers!

GPS tolerance is stated publicly to be within one tenth. With the major advancements gps technology (now running 30-40 satellites) when not near obstructions to the sky we are seeing an average of 3 hundredths when running off of a local base station and checking the accuracy with a robot.
Thanks for the video! How may I change those settings from the Measure window? say I'm taking some spot elevations points and them decide to create a GCP and want to take the average during say 3 or 5 minutes? should I go back all the way to the settings menu? or is it something like Carlson software that I can do it in the same measure window?
Makes no sense to unselect or not be able to use the line work for horizontal offsets yet the the line work is still displayed poor operator would be tearing thier hair out wondering why they can't get an offset
you just click and hold down on any line to select it for horizontal offset. You can also isolate just the layer.. say "back of curb" and then select "auto snap" and it will automatically use which ever line the edge of your blade is closest to. You can still add a horizontal offset in either scenario.
great video, good information; quick question: to make this video you used an emulator of the software on your desktop computer right?, i'm think of trying to get such an emulator to see if it would work for our company before we purchase the field software and field equipment ICON. Thanks !!!

I do not, to do this simply go to base setup, click the tab "from Known Position" then click "use local coordinates". You can then select the known point your base is setup over and enter the rod height/H.I.
Are you using a dedicated terrestrial scanner like the Leica P-Series/RTC360 or a Multi station like the MS60? I have noticed this works well only if there is a lot of point data on the lines. If using a multi station at 30,000 points per second I cannot get this to work, if using a rtc360 or similar with 2 million points per second it works every time on my computer with the latest Leica 3DR version installed. If you are using a true scanner and it is not working I would recommend calling Leica technical support as I have no other settings changed in the program relating to this. Thank you
