It's was a pity to see the ship end this way when I had worked a lot on the installation and commissioning of most of the telecommunication, navigation, monitoring systems and other electronic equipment. I wonder how it had a blackout when it had three 500KVa generators
Love all songs S&G did together. While they have done excellent solo works, none compare to the two of them harmonising in sweet unison. Love these two, warts an all.
I think a wind shield would have helped. Even if it was just made from card board and aluminum foil. You did a good job explaining how it operates. What fuel with it burn - which fuel is hotter and/or lasts longest - Paraffin (kerosene), gasoline, alcohol? Ah, I see you got your wind screen. Hope you enjoy your back packing.
Digging thru old American Graffiti footage, to see what’s out there on the ol’ RU-vid, from 10 years ago, and what do I see at 1:55-2:05, but me driving my gold ‘68 Ford Galaxie in the outside lane! What a trip. I don’t even own the car anymore, but thanks for the surprise memories. And all the cars you videoed were really nice. Can’t go wrong with the 50’s in any way, shape, or form.
I enjoyed your video and hope that your trip to the U.S. was good. I live in Florida and love it here. I'm getting thr Nova next month. This is January 2018. Till then
More than most I appreciate the warm winds of summer, as I ride a motorcycle until recently, even at -15 F and on icy roads, to the tune of 100 miles a day. I had to stop because of aggravated motorcycle accident injuries. At 65 this is one of the songs of my springtime, and brings back distant memories of days gone by. I'm originally from a dusty, sun bleached little beach town in California, but now reside in damp, cool S.E. Virginia. Still a good song from one of the best groups ever.
8th grade in Phoenix, I didn't relate to the song. PBS uses Bangles version and it seems it was a cover. Can't believe it was from '66. All I remember then was Yellow Submarine. Don't think I heard of S&G until The Graduate soundtrack hit. Played it 5 times now to catch up.
I think I was in the 9th grade when this became a hit. It was hard for me to relate living in snowy big cities, as I was living in sunny Imperial Beach California, near San Diego, but it was a still a great song. I do remember time moving so quickly, 5 years was like 10. Kids that graduated a year or 2 earlier , were like aliens from Mars. Not everything was burning down, and Hippies didn't save the world . One or 2 years can make such a big difference in your life. I wish I had graduated in 67 or 68 and not 70.
hello Finn first time I saw this troll was in a book in england I knew I had to go see it when I got to Seattle glad you watched the video the troll is also in the film ten things I hate about you
The song portrays the coldness, desolation and limitation of winter, inside the heart and soul. This is not a song about happy groups of people drinking hot cocoa around the fireplace, going out to get a christmas tree, and playing in the snow. it's about hopes circling the drain. and not just for older people but easy to relate to for younger people too, lots of people know what this feels like. Paul Simon was young when he wrote it.
It was some of the more introspective and thoughtful music of the time. It's easy to get depressed when young and nothing seems to be working, but tomorrow is always around the corner the corner, with new things and people with every sunrise. Here I am at 65 , and for years I was always waiting for my "Endless Summer", and it was happening all around me, all of the time, and I didn't even know it.
It's funny how as I grow older, I seem to appreciate these lyrics more than I did in my younger days.. The song speaks about growing older, unfulfilled expectations and the RESULTING REGRETS..
Please help....Are towels / Napkins provided in sleeper class? Is the onboard luggage safe as passengers generally are moving around away from their seat
I was raised in Ohio and when I was a kid I loved winter but I live near Ft. Lauderdale and the snow in this video is as close to it as I plan on getting!! Damn that looks cold!!!!
