I can totally relate in December of 2022 my septic system needed a $5000 repair... again in December. I wiped out all my sinking funds & savings challenges plus $2000 on a credit card that was paid off. SH*T does really happens, LOL 🤣 This repair was a HUGE wake up in my debt payoff and budgeting journey = I needed a beefier emergency fund... Like you I stressed and had anxiety over it for a week, then I was able to wrap my head around it and was thankful I had the money to deal with the emergency. I appreciate your honesty and being vulnerable life really does happen. Hugs we got this even during tough times.
