Hey Chris, some great sounds here. Are you expecting the EL34's to be warmer/darker with the scooped mid vibe they tend to have. I like them, they are great for dialling in and tweaking with a fatter tone as default. Looking forward to hearing the new purchase, cheers Will 😎🤙
Awesome to hear dude! I have some amps that have EL34s and I do like them it seems to be definitely different from the 6L6s. I have yet to check out the 5150III EL34 I just have the 6L6 version I can't quite afford to buy another 5150 III haha Thank you so much for watching! 😁
@@HighImpaktAudio I find the EL34 gives off the John Sykes vibe. I really like the natural distortion, it doesn't need any pedals to boost. I play rhythm guitar and sing (and might to an occasional solo). I would adjust the mids higher (I did a lot of mixing and those mids are very important in the mix). A nice alt setup is running some powered speakers via the headphone jack in the back for a bedroom level sound.
The Iconic designer (James Brown, who actually designed the original 5150) confirmed there will be differences in the preamp voicing, just like all other EL34 variants, but shouldn't require clipping a cap (ref C137) to get a good overdrive sound. Just changing the tubes wouldn't make much difference, they revoice it to be closer to what people expect from an EL34 amp.
I do agree with you dude. The EL34s do seem to be a little different from 6L6s but if that's the only change it is not enough to justify it if you have the 6L6. I can't wait to get it in to see the true difference in tone. Who knows maybe EVH has been cooking 😁

To be completely honest I never said the dark flame is supposed to be the G3. These were just some pedals that I wanted to shootout, because they are similar. And also when JOYO sent me the Darkflame they told me differently from what you said. 🤷
@@HighImpaktAudio I saw in the website jackson js22-7 more cheaper than S by solar ab4.7. 199$ vs 299$. But here in Indonesia, S by solar more cheaper than jackson js22-7. The difference about 20$. Both made in China..
I'm sorry to hear that your fret edges weren't done well. Might want to try contacting Balaguer to see what can be done. I've been lucky with my guitars from them
The high-low gain switch appears to act like the one on the Savage and some of the other amps. It’s often described as a kind of boost - adds more gain and tightens up the lower frequencies.
Quick question. Are you sure there’s an additional 12AX7 along with the 4 ECC preamp tubes? I thought it was just the 4, which are basically the 12AX7.
Hello! Yes you are actually correct it's just 4 ECC83 tubes in the preamp I busted into my amp to make sure after you commented. I looked at sweetwaters website and idk why but they have the 1 12AX7 listed for whatever reason I have no idea haha thank you so much for watching! 😁
The Argos Overdrive sounds great on the Joyo stuff! I had the same reaction as you to it haha though at least for my playing style the rigel seems to have enough. But it never hurts to boost 😁
What do you think about getting the SYN 50/50 Power Amp? It seems a very nice unit not only for the Synergy modules, but for anything that requires power.
Honestly I don't have experience with the 50/50 from Synergy. I mostly use the Synergy in the studio so I've never needed the power section. Though I have ran the syn 2 through one of my amp heads to use it's power section and it does great! I've seen some other guitarists that have checked out the 50/50 and weren't a fan of the presence control. I wish I could tell you a straight answer, but hopefully this helps 😁

I found that the DI out volume is influenced by the volume control of the amp. My expectation was that the DI out should NOT be affected by the volume control of the amp. Any guidance on this ?
I own one .Not my go to but it's a great unit. You gotta get into the sounds and create your own tones. Some of the presets are good but mess around and get your own sounds.

I started playing metal in the early 2000's but haven't picked up a guitar in forever, but recently started again. This video is great for beginners and for a reminder of things i need to make sure I'm up to sniff with as an out of practice player. Good job.
They basically modded this to be the Ibanez version of the Maxon OD808x. Maxon designed the TS808 for Ibanez, the Maxon OD808 is the same exact pedal. Not sure if this mod is EXACTLY the same but pretty darn close with the higher gain and clipping. Pretty sick. Not sure if it’s in my head but it seems this one is a little more mid honkey than the OD808X.. thanks for the video. 🤙
Hello! Compared to the OD808x I find the fortin 808 to be quite a bit hotter on the signal and yeah it definitely focuses on the mids forsure. I tend to dial back the mids around 1K and it does pretty well for me. Thank you so much for watching! 😁
