Programming isn't easy, so I created this channel to share some of the things I've learned along the way that could make the lives of others just a little bit simpler.
Just started coding a year ago (career change in my 40's from social services) and just started with Visual Studio last week. Your video is the best I've found so far! Subscribed to your channel instantly. Thank you!
It goes even further back depending on what you consider a "terminal" to be. IBM had Video Display Units in the 50s and 60s that displayed information on a screen which could be considered terminals.
You're using an application right now to watch this video and write your comment. An application is created by writing code that works together to achieve an intended purpose. There are different types of applications - social media applications like Facebook and Twitter for socializing, finance applications like Mint and Quickbooks to manage finances, and even sports applications to keep track of live scores, upcoming matches, etc. An app is the short form of the word application.
@indiawale099 What command are you running in the terminal? I covered how to run a JS file in this video (with timestamps). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bfvq_kTbnd8.html Watch it, and let me know in the comments if it helped you out.
Depends if your GPU/monitor activates as fast as that post screen stays up. My 4090 and predator 4k monitor don't initialize until the windows loading screen is already up. I can sorta guess when it'll be up by timing of keyboard lighting up but just a slow tapping of the button is basically guaranteed to work.
Really? That's interesting. Does that mean faster graphics cards activate slower, or is your case unique? Maybe an Intel processor could be behaving differently.
@@HeightAboveSeaLevel That can be the case, I had an issue back when I upgraded a GTX 970 to a 1080 ti the motherboard I used had a timeout to detect PCIe graphics and the 1080 ti took longer than that to initialize, it was fixed by a bios update with a longer timer. Was curious so I did a quick test on with a intel 9700k B360 system, dropped in a 1660 Super I see about 4~5 seconds average of viewable post screen, I then put in a 3080 and it's up for 3 seconds, not a ton different but even without timer is noticeable. My 4090 is on liquid so it's not really one I can pop out fast to try it. Monitor can play into it too, I have a media PC with a 1050 ti on a TV and the TV takes a while to detect/lock the input so I see the post screen for less than a second before OS is loading.
@@keshavneupane1646 Nice. Lots of desktop applications and video games written in C++, so I see you gaining some transferrable skills there. What would you like to build with Python? All the best with your coursework!
@@HeightAboveSeaLevel i really dont know what i am building with Python. I am just learning it since the syntax isnt complex and my older brother told me to learn it and gain experience while learning Python. I think i gonna join my brother company on 3rd sem(rn i am in 2nd sem) and learn more in the complany and then choose my best route.
I've written some very light SQL in Visual Studio. Have you taken a look at SQL Server Management Studio? learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms/download-sql-server-management-studio-ssms?view=sql-server-ver16 It could be what you're looking for.
Certainly not for a beginner, there is an overload of info that a beginner can not use or understand , there is so much info that prevents the beginner to begin.
I like the comment and appreciate what you’re saying. I have very little up-to-date knowledge on programming (I took a single class in grade school in the late nineties) but there is enough knowledge here for me to build on. Did it answer questions I already had? Absolutely! Did it give me a million more questions? Absolutely! These, with the beautiful technology of today, I researched separately after I rewatched the video, on separate tabs, on my phone. Not having all the knowledge immediately available was not a deterrent. I feel this was extremely useful.
Do you have that shortcut bound to a different action? To see all your shortcuts: Tools (at the top of your screen) > Options > Expand Environment dropdown > Keyboard Type "console" in the search bar on the right panel to see all shortcuts associated with it. Here's an article with more details if you still need help. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/ide/identifying-and-customizing-keyboard-shortcuts-in-visual-studio?view=vs-2022
Clear step-by-step instructions at a calm steady pace which makes it ideal for beginners. I hope there will be more like this for people starting out coding with hope in their heart.
This is the first in a series of videos. There's a link in the description to the entire playlist helping beginners get started with C#. Glad you liked it.
I'm an American, but I've been asking for YEARS why we never get to play with Africans, but we play with Europeans all the time. Thanks for the informative video. I hope things improve in the future for gamers in the big continent.
yea my first time ever loading it didnt pop up, but the second time it did. just crazy how the universe works with me. everythings wrong@@HeightAboveSeaLevel
Just a suggestion that I hope you don't mind. Would you consider removing the rotating promotion on the right side of the video? I am happy to follow or support your channel, but that animation is absolutely distracting and might not be well suited in a video where people are tying to concentrate on the content you're providing.
Its disappointing that we dont have many games that let us experience Africa from the perspective of an African. Growing up, I didn't realize how much history and culture I was missing out on in the games I played or the movies I watched. But I think the constant rehashing of Rome, Vikings, Knights, and Rome again gets stale after so many years. Origins was a breath of fresh air and the map Numbani allows me to dream about Africa's near future but there is so much more to this earth than just Europe and America.
Since you liked AC Origins and are interested in African games, I think you'd be interested in "Tales of Kenzera: Zau". store.steampowered.com/app/2316580/Tales_of_Kenzera_ZAU/ Baek's voice actor, Abubakar Salim, is its creative director and the inspiration behind it. The game is about an African shaman trying to bring his father back from the dead. It's only $20 and is set to drop to $15 later on (retail price, not sale).
I love VS code, but the need for Visual Studio is coming up more and more in work. Thanks for this video, I was really clueless. It does move fast which is a good thing, because I can just pause when I need to.
Excellent lesson with fast overview of advanced features too. Visual Studio is such a rich tool. I started C programming in 1984, which was ancient times.
