I’m David from Gloucestershire in UK, making videos on RU-vid about cruises and cruising! 🚢 ⚓️. We focus on bringing you content like ship tour and reviews, food reviews, and cabin stateroom tours. We've just taken our 40th cruise so we know a thing or two - so feel free to ask us a question and we'll do our best to help.
@antonetteleaks2401 Thanks for watching the video. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. I’d love to do this again. PS. Be careful with the rum punch!!
I am very much in line with all the restaurant reviews. Sad to say, I had the same experience in Cagney’s. Everything around the meat was perfection but the meat was just a bit tough and I am a rare meat eater so it wasn’t the cooking. Totally agree on the Mexican. Overwhelmed on the size of the portions, underwhelmed on the flavour. Loved the Italian, had the veal Milanese, delicious but the portion was too large. Indulge was a great alternative to the buffet and never had a bad plate throughout the cruise. I did eat once in Hudson’s for the ambience. The food as usual left a lot to be desired. More fit for large banquets as opposed to individual dining. I am booked on the transatlantic in November and look forward to visiting my favourites on the Viva.
@NancyCurran-vb7io Hi Nancy, thanks for watching the video and especially for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it. I’ve just looked at the November TransAtlantic…. What a lovely itinerary that is. I’m sure you’ll have a great time in all those ports, plus lots of sea days to enjoy the actual ship. If I had enough annual leave remaining, I would be booking myself on that cruise!
We've gone on nearly 30 Princess cruises, but the style of this ship does not interest us at all. If I didn't know better, I would thik it's a Celebrity ship. Not interested.
@donnadejesu4445 Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, it really helps me out. The Sun Princess isn’t a ship I’d rush back to at all and I love Princess. I’m just not sure Princess Cruises does a mega ship very well. The entertainment was a big disappointment for me. There are plenty of better options in the Princess Cruises fleet.
I done the captain club for a hour my dad and partner got invited because they have been on many cruises with X so good captain club points. It was my first cruise I just went along with them and got in they didn’t bother asking! 😂 Was good 👍 but drinks didn’t matter as premium package anyway so was happy with my jack and cokes
We always try to engage our waiters/waitresses as well as our room host. We try to make it fun and learn about them rather than just take care of our room. We have found doing this makes our experiences so much more enjoyable. We also tip during the cruise as well as the included tips. We find service is incredible.
Thanks for the reviews - very helpful. Please check your camera mic/audio settings. The audio was very difficult to hear. There was one moment when your voice was clear and background sound was muted (your summary for O'Malley's Pub). Try to fixture out what may have happened in that sequence. Your videos are excellent - keep up the good work. Morgan
@morganhoward6027 Hello Morgan, Thanks for watching the video and I really appreciate you giving the feedback. Clearly, we had a microphone issue, so sorry about that. Creating these videos is harder than it looks, with so many things to think about, the sound being one of them and you generally only get one shot. Anyway, thanks again for the good feedback and we’ll try harder next time! Best wishes, David
We've just come off our best cruise ever on the VV Scarlet Lady and we're having our 2 week caribbean honeymoon in November on the Sun Princess. Can't help but feel like a slight downgrade!
@emilycarter6120 Hi Emily and Congratulations! Listen, I would try and change your mindset. Princess and Virgin are worlds apart, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time. It’s just a different experience so try not to compare the two. 2 weeks in the Caribbean will be amazing and I wish you both a great time. Thanks for watching, David
Great video!!! I see that you have quite the microphone there on your shirt... But, it picks up every word and sound of the people (maybe in front of you) Wonder if the possibility of a different mike is in the future?
@princesssweetpea9205 Many thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. Sorry about the sound issues. Filming in these main restaurants is such a challenge with people all around. My videos are very much a work in progress, so hope to do better next time. Thanks again, David
@norfolkboy6935 Thanks as always! Yes it was a mixed bag and that kind of sums up Sun Princess. We had a great time, however I have no reason to rush back to the Sun Princess, I’ll stick with their smaller ships. PS. If I’m ever hungry on a cruise ship, something is very wrong!

Advice from someone that has cruised 22 times on 6 Celebrity ships in 16 years ... 1. Mr. "Cruise Show UK" is right in saying not to panic. RELAX! 2. Do not rush. Do not take everything all at once, because your warm/hot food will soon get cold. Instead ... plate only your cold food to start (for example, fruit, cereal, muesli, juice) and take it to your table. Eat none, part, or all of it -- as you please. Leave something (e.g., a jacket, a spouse, etc.) at the table -- to protect your food from being picked up by mistake! 3. Now go back and plate your warm/hot food (main course, side dish[es], coffee/tea). (I highly recommend the made-to-order omelets.) Go back to your table and enjoy everything that you have thus far taken. 4. Finally go back yet again and choose your dessert (whether it be something light [a "danish" or "chocolate croissant] or something more substantial [such as a waffle with compote and whipped cream]). Return to your table and finish your banquet with a flourish!
Less time seeing you shovelling food and more on the dishes and their contents... just a suggestion, since you are not that attractive...especially eating.
My last Princess Cruise was the month before the covid shutdown. My next Princess Cruise is next spring, round trip to Hawaii on the Ruby Princess. After watching your video I would love to get on the Sun Princess but I fear it's going to be at least a couple more years. Watching your videos will have to do until then.
@aimeerogers4542 Hi Aimee, oh I love the Ruby Princess and would love to sail on her again one day….. I’d also like to do that Hawaii trip again. I loved Hawaii and I’m sure you’ll have a great time. Thanks for watching as always, David
Hi and thanks for watching the video. I sailed on Iona when she first entered service, so everything was brand new. I’m sure the beds have been worn in a bit by now, so wouldn’t be a problem. But yes, I could have asked for a mattress topper. Thanks again, David
Loved this video - I've just come back from Queen Anne and we decided not to do Sir Samuel's - I now regret that after watching this video! We ate at the Indian at the back of the ship beside the Food Hall, and really enjoyed it in there!
@FraserAtSea Thanks for watching Fraser! There’s always another time to do Sir Samuel’s! We missed out on the Indian restaurant. Will have to return to Queen Anne and do the others! Best wishes, David
Thanks for this great video of cabin C125. When we booked this stateroom cabin for our transatlantic adventure we had no idea that there was a video of the actual room that we are going to be staying in. The video was so helpful and informative, which definitely has made a huge difference in our planning leading up to our departure! Thank you so much for your very detailed review of C125 on the beautiful Sky Princess. Composer and creative Robert Steven Hunt from the UK.
@Robertstevenhunt Thanks for the feedback Robert! I’m glad you liked the video and found it useful. Enjoy your TransAtlantic voyage on Sky Princess. She’s a great ship and I never get tired of crossing the Atlantic by sea. Best Wishes, David
Hi David. Thanks for this informative video about taking the local Olden bus to Birksdal Glacier. We followed your advice and indeed the local bus arrived just where the cruise ship was docked across the street. FYI - when the bus came there were more people than the bus could take! We just managed to get on this bus. But for the overflow the town sent a second bus within 5 minutes so there was no problem getting there, and back. The bus indeed waited there at the lodge till 1:00 pm and drove us back . The 40 minute drive was breathtaking. The driver even dropped passengers off at Olden town. Thank you so much for the brilliant advice and it made our trip very enjoyable. We will be following you for other cruises
@katherinegan9196 Thanks so much for leaving this comment. It really makes me happy knowing you got to experience that excursion. It’s still the most scenic bus ride over ever taken and worth every penny. Very surprised to hear how busy it was. I’ve taken it twice, both times in June and is was very quite. Great that they provided another bus for you! Thanks again for watching the video and the great comments. David
@craighall6301 Hi Craig! Well, you are in for a treat. It’s a great cabin, in a good location. Have a great cruise and thanks for watching the video. David
Hi and thanks for watching. I can’t really remember the steaks being overly thin on Queen Anne. I think it’s true that steak size had reduced across the cruise industry, especially so in the main dining rooms. On my recent Sun Princess trip, I ordered the always available New York strip and it was more like a thin slice of beef!
@norfolkboy6935 It’s really good right! As far as I can tell, all the ocean views are that length on deck 5 & 6. (Unless my chart is wrong!) Fabulous cabin and I’d certainly choose it in future. Thanks as always, David
We stayed in an identical cabin on the QA and found it very comfortable. I loved the bathroom, it's so much better and the shower is immeasurably superior to the ones on the QM2 which drive me crazy.
