This video was posted Oct 3 2008... I was 9 years old and I am only just now DISCOVERING this gem! Damn it all that time wasted! Oh well lmao at least I can enjoy it now!
A voice to churn, melt, and brown butter, fry bacon, extract honey from beehives, grind and steep coffee, bake rolls, and clear clouds to make sunrays cut through the half-open blinds, all at once. Good Morning.
This song makes me imagine it’s sung by a drunken Japanese Chris Rea, struggling home through the dark streets of Neo-Tokyo after another heavy session
As neon lights illuminating sky, at darkest places in city, you'll walk alone again. You'll see tears of time behind your sunglasses and a familiar hologram would take fake-smile towards to you. No one waiting for you, nobody forgived you done, also nobody remembering your sacrifices you did. All battles ended and even despite all defeats, all of those are Pyrrhus victories. Because you know, at a certain moment, there is only pain and suffering. Memories will be hurting you one more time in this night, lifelines closing to the certain end in every single per miliseconds. As soon, a rain will come, loaded like a sulfuric acid as reflections of melancholia and dreams of your naive past. You will never try resist or escape, afterall, you're no saint or loyal life partner. You'll only remember one more time, once upon a time, you're no Mr Dandy or Mr Joy. Because you know, at a certain moment, there is only pain and suffering.
So many years later, this is still a great song. That one long tracking shot while this song played was and is one of the greatest animation points EVER.
Apparently, this was supposed to be featured on the Jealousy album, ALONGSIDE Standing Sex AND Art of Life! Yeah, the original Jealousy was supposed to be a double album! But Yoshiki was overworking himself and they were running out of time on the contract. So they just cut these three songs and released them in their own way. Art of Life became a mini-album, Standing Sex a single, and this song a B-side to Silent Jealousy. Sometimes I wonder just how better Jealousy would be if they hadn't cut these tracks. I don't know how I'd feel about Art of Life on there, but I think the two songs cut were among the strongest.
