The engine is a 219cc Yanmar single-cylinder diesel. A 1960s Vincent exhaust help give this tiny diesel a bit of oomph, and we tend to run it at as slowly as we can to make it more realistic
@@stuff_i_build Long time ago now! I think it's called the Y series, but I'm not sure precisely which one. I do know it wasn't the electric start model. It had a blanking plate where the starter would go, but when I eventually found the correct starter, it turned out to have a plain flywheel, so that was that. It does start quite well on its own generator though
Greens may have put at stop to peat fired electricity generation but they'll never stop my Stanley errigal she going at fulll tilt every night burning the best of peaf/turf
Alexander is much older now, of course! He is a 23-year-old percussionist and keyboard player in Birmingham: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N0fASPLxAjs.html. He still plays the organ when asked, usually at Christmas.
Fantastic video, didn't know anything about this railway, obviously! It has a nice run and a lot of potential, quite a lot to maintain, but very impressive, and the spiral (a.k.a. Ffestiniog Railway at Dduallt, etc) is quite unusual for the UK. Thanks for sharing the video, would like to see the Toy Museum at some point too.
Very good news tonight. Bob Lanaway has been granted permission to open the railway and museum four times a year for charity. We will add more info when we hear more
Lovely to see your railway is still in operation! I previously enjoyed a visit during one of your open days with my wife - pre pandemic!!! Really hope we will be able to return soon???
As of 2020 all of this peat extraction operations has stopped for good, due to green party pressure and friends of the irish environment,1000s of jobs gone and we are now importing gas and coal to run the electricity grid,we have had number of Amber alerts for electricity generation shortages.
