That membrane in your old vacuum is supposed to be removed when used as a pond vac. Have both but I am selling to hoselock one, once used once but cannot get on with it
High nitrite is very unusual in a well matured pond, nitrate is a different matter. You need to improve the filter system, you shouldn’t need to dose with anything for nitrite.
Hello frank I agree mate although I've found multiple people with the same issue and like mine their ponds are well established the only thing I can come up with is the water board have added something to our mains supply and I'm thinking chloramine, I'll update this issue soon as I'm due a water analysis this coming week. Thanks for your comment 👍
I have seen that but for some reason though it was the same as virkon don't know where I got that idea from 🤣 I'll have a look at it cheers for the heads up that might do a better job tbh 👌👍
Glad you got it under control mate yea my Lillie’s used to be Awsome but I thinned them out last year and the fish just destroy the plant I have left Fish looking really good some size on some of them now mate all the best Jiffster👍🏼👍🏼
Cheers Mike yeah mate I always remember you having the best lillys on RU-vid but yep the bigger the fish get the more the destroy them . I reckon this will be my best year for growth 🤞🤞
Did anyone experience the koi flashing after putting the detox in? I found my koi were irritated by it when i put it in. Glad its sorted your nitrite problem so far. Im also experiencing high nitrite this year. I've noticed a rise in nitrite in my fresh tap water as well, which doesn't help!
Hello Jason I have a tiny bit of flashing when I first add it I'm guessing the grittiness of the powder irritates the gills a bit at first, I've checked my tap water and doesn't have any nitrite but I suppose it depends on the area you live in . Hopefully you can get yours sorted soon 🤞🤞
Pond looking fantastic Leon💯 and the fish looking superb 👌 im very weary too about colour throwing out secondary, im feeding on a 70/30 ratio so im hoping it wont overpower the colours but give enough to strengthen pigment as the fish grow. I also use detox regularly, however i use it after water changes to strip supply water contaminants out the water, metals etc. Its top stuff.👌
Cheers sy . I was using it 50/50 at first then 70/30 in favour of growth in all honesty I think the 50% colour mix was the problem if I use it in future it will be in smaller amounts just to support the beni during the seasonal growth. I'm hoping I can cut down on the detox soon and maybe go to once a week 🤞🤞
Very interesting video Leon👍. I’ve been using detox for a while but only at very small doses (2 tablespoons once a week) and believe it has been/is beneficial to the water quality so glad you’re seeing positive results. BTW, good to see you back😊👍
