I work for an airline. I never thought I would miss those loud smoky kerosene smelling days. But how I wish I could go back to that time! And of course being young again!

Ah super mooi gemaakt. Hier kunnen jullie ook zien Schiphol van dichterbij: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FOhOHDb0HwY.htmlsi=l1P_HSoFELQHGx4s
I can tell that this was a few years ago because of the firefighters' uniforms. It's very unusual to see firefighters wearing one piece suits. In Britain, the Kent Fire Brigade had these in the 1990s.
i clicked on this to research something i'm writing, only to hear the flight is landing in new orleans! considering this is my hometown and my mom graduated in 1992, i almost feel a sense of longing watching this video 😂
I was just going to ask why there was no apparent interior attack effort made... this answered that question nicely. I am not able to get a translation of your description... would you be willing to put an English translation in a reply please? I'm going to look up what history I can on this... it appears a significant story behind this. I'm curious.
@@shaunolinger964 translation: The problem with this fire is a long story. The building was undergoing an illegal renovation that hadn't been cleared by the council or the fire brigade. So there was no option for internal fire-fighting. The original alert was a 'maybe there's a fire' and the first truck at the scene upgraded it to a medium size fire. At that moment, crews still had to travel from their homes to the trucks and then to the scene. It was then upgraded to a large fire and shortly after to a very large fire. The commanders did an excellent job. The building itself was a maze of rooms. So you won't take the risk by sending in your crews. The issue of the building itself between the owner, the council and the fire brigade had been ongoing for years... the fire won and solved the problem.
