What was the overall size of the wire you used to allow for the hardware? For example, if the dogs head measurement was 13 inches, did you add an extra 3.5 inches to make the string 16.5 total? Thanks so much

Not a fan of it looking half dome. makes it look unfinished. Wish there was a way to make them go all the way around looking almost like a flower in the end
