Hey, I have a graduate and master's degree in English literature from India. I'm trying to break into the publishing industry but can't seem to find any editing internships. Can you please assist me with that? I can't seem to find internships for editing. Please help me with that if possible.
Hi! Can't find your Instagram, I have some questions I'd love to ask about your experience and if you could hear out my situation and maybe tell me your opinion?
For anyone interested in the ‘How To Get Into Editorial’ course, I’m running it again in April 2024 :) tickets here www.badformreview.com/shop/p/how-to-get-into-editorial-course
For anyone who is still interested in the ‘How To Get Into Editorial’ course, I’m running it again in April 2024: www.badformreview.com/shop/p/how-to-get-into-editorial-course
Are you aware of any similar training opportunities or internships in Liverpool? I want to enter the editorial industry but not sure where to begin at all and don't have any connections.
Hi, I know this video is quite old so you might not be responding to comments but I figured I would just ask 😅 I am interested in getting into publishing or editing and recently did a short course on copy-editing and proofreading... I already have a degree in education but I was wondering if there are any other things I should look into to help me get into publishing or should I just keep applying ?
Thank you so much for posting this- it is a huge help in demystifying the goals and tasks an editorial assistant takes on in their day to day! I heard you mention the challenge of working with bookstores in the pandemic ; I was wondering if you would find it worth it to discuss how editorial has remained the same from the pandemic until now and how it has changed from the pandemic until now and if you do think this is an important question to discuss, would you make a video on it?
thans for this video amy, and for taking time to tell us a bit of your story, it helped a lot. i am so tired of sending applications, but ill keep going for sure, its a dream to work in this area. sending lots of love from Brazil 💙
Thank you so much for the advice ❤I love publishing and penguin random house too. On my situation, I’m just a fresh graduate designer and I have no idea how I could get into publishing job till now. Probably I should got another publishing house for the start. Wish me luck 🍀
This video was very useful. This seems to be a typical 9-5 with some overtime. I’m a junior in college right now, wanting to get into publishing, and one of my main concerns is just that time to yourself to still enjoy things like watching tv shows, reading other stuff than what you have to, and just the usual stuff.
thanks for this great video, i only hope you tweaked your sound mixer a bit though, there are moments when your voice is very low and hard to hear, and yet the next second the background music is crazy loud. having to constantly adjust my volume is not fun...
Amy this video is really helpful and I’m from India, currently I’m working as a project manager in the Newgen Knowledgeworks Chennai, which offers publishing services to publishers. I’m looking for openings on editorial assistant jobs in abroad, is there any platform or websites where these job opportunities are posted.. thanks
I have written ten sci fi fictions. How can I get a platform to publish these manuscripts through Penguin Random House? In 2014, Penguin published an anthology of true life stories titled 'Something Happened On The Way To Heaven 'edited by Sudha Murty. The 11th no story is written by me.
Hey, this was really helpful. I'm aspiring to get into editorial as well and i wanted to know how long does penguin take to get back to you after you do your test? Also you're amazing. Thanks for existing 🤍🌸
Okay this was really reassuring and interesting, because I’m also a mixed race person and I’ve avoided applying for any schemes of that nature because I look white. I’ll definitely apply from now on - thanks!
Thanks for this. Working on a career transition after finishing grad school last May, and I wound up getting a marketing job in a different industry last summer. Had several interviews for publishing jobs, but no offers, so I switched gears because I felt like at least getting some editorial experience would be helpful in the long run. I'm going through another round of applications for publishing jobs now. It's encouraging to hear that sticking to it paid off!
I’ve been trying to get into publishing but failing with applying to entry roles. I’m not able to apply to the scheme you mentioned so I haven’t been able to get any type of experience.. :( and I’ve beeen out of uni for many years now so I feel like it’s too late ;(
