Well I believe in revealed preference. If it's such a terrible scam, why supposedly smart college-educated immigrants keep going to Canada? Maybe it's just worse in their home countries. I'm sure OP ain't going back to Russia any time soon. Or maybe it's something else.
I realized it was like this two weeks after I arrived. Highly educated professionals are lured into Canada for a few main reasons: 1. Toil to pay the mortgage of someone who already lives here, preferably by living in their basement. 2. Bring their life savings here, but you can't find a top-notch job at first. Canada installs many barriers so you have to start over. If you arrive and simply find a great job, you won't spend your life savings and thus won't heat up the economy. They also suggest you might need to "go back to school," so you'll end up subsidizing higher education for people who are already here by paying 3x more tuition. But the media, and politicians too, are going to lie to everyone by saying you get grants and free rent, or even a free car on arrival. 3. After spending the money you brought from your country and paying for someone else's mortgage, you'll start looking for a place of your own to buy. This is another purpose of immigration. Now you'll increase the value of the houses of those who were already here. 4. Paying interest. After depleting your savings, you'll start paying interest to the banks here and also finance the retirement pension of people who are already here. And while you pay interest, you have to watch banks' CEOs blaming YOU, the immigrant, for the their own mismanagement of the economy. 5. Canada works as a lure that causes brain drain in U.S. competitors worldwide, thus helping to keep "in development" countries permanently "in development." 6. Canada's main business is mining natural resources worldwide, with 75% of all mining companies operating from Canada. By bringing immigrants from all over the world, it becomes easier to exploit their countries of origin by applying knowledge of local regulations and culture to establish mining operations abroad. 7. You bring not only money but also hundreds of thousands, potentially millions, of dollars that your nation spent on your education, from childcare to the doctorate level. Canadians get all of this for free. We're the cash cows, and we're badmouthed in every province of this land. Those of us who are smart enough get their citizenship and leave. What aggravates me the most is how some people who were born here act as if we're "taking advantage of what they built". What did they built, exactly? A homeless dystopia? I had never seen so many homeless people dying all over, you can't even take public transit in most cities of this country without risking your life. Is this what they built? This horrible healthcare too? It's far worse than anything we had in my homecountry. These people are completely delusional.
I knew this was coming in 2011. Canada was the safe haven during the 2008 global crisis. The US wall street did not like it. They created a mess in Canada and now Canada is now following US policies to bankrupt people. If only Canadians learnt how US ruined the economies of Europe from Greece to Greenland they could have taken caution to save Canada from the US elites.
I lived in Canada (Toronto) for 11 years. And I had a nice job and salary. Then my family moved back to my country in Europe. Truth is - before 2015 Canada wasn't that bad place to live, but Trudeau makes its best to make is real bad. It is going to be even worse. Looks very shiny from outside, looks very shiny when you walk the streets, the malls etc, but with time you understand that moving to Canada was a bad decision. Canada is a very beautiful country which is being destroyed from inside with political help from other governments and Canadians don't realize it. 💥🕷✈ When I lived in Toronto I knew people working 2 and once I met a girl who said she works even 3 works and don't make enough money. Imagine that. 💥💣
I concur for the most part but moving to a smaller city does allow you to purchase a house! My neighbour just bought a $200.000 house and the couple work full time. If you are an engineer and your wife is well-educated then maybe moving to a smaller city can permit you to buy a house! ☺️
However crappy Canada is, and I don't doubt you're right about it, it's still got better propects than the so-called "developing countries" that are only developing into over-population and collapse. Plus your characterization of what migrants are is bizarre for instance migrants from the Philippines are highly unlikely to have what you describe in their home country.
Canadian economy is run on human traficking , thats the sad reality .and unfortunatley , me just like million others fell for this trap . this country wont just strip u off your life savings but your blood and youth ,and dump you as a zombie or provide you with medical assisted suicide .
The truth is that it was a scam 20 yrs back too but it was in a smaller scale now due to mass immigration the truth has spilled out. Very true every thing is hidden ,untrue and misguided play of words.

Russia never had slavery or reservations, or dropped an A bomb on another country. It accomodates 17 national languages across 2 continents along with an assortment of religions when no religion didn't happen under the worst tyranny of communism. In the 90s it was most unregulated capitalist democracy on earth. That didn't go well for the nations greatest asset, her people, so order was finally restored with some democratic socialism to tame the cowboy capitalists=oligarchs. I’ve lived all my life in Canada. My parents came as immigrants and made a stable life for us. When I retired 8 years ago the standard of living seemed to deteriorate with the false flag scare it just did it in. I got out 4 years ago and feel very lucky I did. Canada has even gone below bottom now. This guy is spot on in all he says. Poor Indians, if all immigrants leave maybe they can revive the country and this time be careful who they allow back in
Also, for many of us singletons, retirement is not an option. I have a reasonable amount in my RRSP but not enough to get through the entire month, even with my survivor benefit. I continue to find work because I can’t imagine not working, but what about the senior who can’t due to health issues or simply having had enough of the working life? CPP and OAS don’t begin to cover living expenses. Property taxes are obscene, carbon tax on everything, and absurdly high income tax make fear a constant companion. I feel so bad for my daughter and other hardworking people in their 30s who will never afford to own a home.
Sounds like Canada is suffering from the same immigration issues many countries are. You only invite highly educated, ambition people and that's who come but then your average citizen can not compete with that person. A person with a Master's degree didn't come to dig ditches or flip burgers. Oh and natives aren't going to do something menial so that job goes unfilled. I live over a thousand miles from our southern border but haven't seen a non-latin construction worker in years.

Thank You for Making This Video!!! This completely reinforced my oh so growing belief that this is a terrible decision and made me reconsider moving to Canada ever. Thank God I didn't make such a life-crushing mistake.
Taxes, burocracy, greed, leading to housing crazy cost, hight food cost and corruption of the politicians are driving the people to the streets. Immigration is creating more problem.
Canada is now experiencing all the disadvantages of LATIN American coutries without having their sun, beaches and food. Canada has been rulled by Trudeau's nasty progressist agenda but still having the burden of northen hemisphere cold weather and the ugly english-rooted mindset that only work should fuflill the individual's life. The work-first mindset is only rewarding and fullfilling if you work in a free market environment. Exactly the opposit of what is happening in countries ruled by leftism and their dirty elite's agenda.
Most will forget...Hong Kongers came in droves before China took over...they purchased huge homes, installed their teenagers and left to go back. There were more homeless as people could not afford the high rents and many being forced to live on the street, many also using foo banks.
